Good Morning Cruzers, Thank you for all the wonderful comments on the photos. Goose likes them too, but he would like them even more if he had a 600MM Lens and could get in a little closer. We’re nearing the end of September and the Fall Migration of eagles in the Pennsylvania area will begin in about 6 to 8 weeks. Yesterday we ventured out to the Susquehannock State Park area and down to Conowingo Dam to make the circle of the nests we showed you this summer. The nest at the river looked like it needed to be mowed with all the grass that was growing on it. We found that the three juvenile eagles from down at the river nest have moved up to visit the two juveniles from the high-powered electrical tower. They were all soaring over the dam’s lake. As we stood on the bridge that crosses the lake at the dam breast they circled over us, watching as we moved back and forth on the bridge for the best vantage point. We didn’t see any of the adults, who should need a rest after raising these five beautiful eaglets. :soar: :soar: :soar: :soar: :soar: We then drove down to the Conowingo Dam. The river was low and the local resident eagles and their offspring were fishing out the easy pickings. We saw 15 to 20 eagles perching on the towers and flying over the dam. They were gathered on the high power electric towers in the middle of the river on the island. It seemed like the juveniles would still like to be fed by their parents as they chased the adults with their catch. In 2008 when we started searching for eagles in our local area we visited the Conowingo Dam during the Thanksgiving weekend and saw the migrating eagles as they stopped to fish at the Dam. We revisited the Dam in December and the migrating eagles were still in the area. Thanksgiving weekend may be a good time for an East Coast gathering. We have a few days off for the holiday and plan to visit the Dam that weekend so if anyone would like to join us we just need to choose the date and time. We usually try to plan by the weather because it can be quite cold in November. We would be looking for the best day out of the Friday, Saturday or Sunday holiday weekend. Hopefully the weather will be dry and fair on Saturday, November 28th. ![]() ![]() Click for Slide Show. http://s658.photobucket.com/albums/uu304/G...mview=slideshow |

AWESOME shots Mr. & Mrs. Goose. I would happily join all for an Easties gathering, but I leave for Ga. to be with my family again Thanksgiving Day. I prefer the warmer Weather to Fall & Winter. Perhaps in the Spring or Summer. Well if Linds hasn't been sent home yet it appears she may be staying until the baby arrives. Hoping for an easy delivery for both the Mom and little one. Perhaps the Shower was a little too much and Mom started Premature Labor. |

Mrs.Goose/Karen - Another amazing slideshow. I just can't believe how many eagles were perched on the wall. The juvies over the lake were beautiful. How lucky you are to experience all of this. Thank you for always sharing your adventures with us. :soar:

Great shots as always Goose!!! Dang it if i only had wings id fly right out there from here in the philly burbs! Ive not been to Conewingo Dam since i was a kid! If my car were more reliable, it would be an easy road trip for me. It looks too from the first shot that it would be easy to shoot with a tripod since there appeared to be good vistas to set one up from. Alas, with my unreliable auto, the closest to that neck of the woods i could get to would be via Amtrak to lancaster. I hope the stork has a safe landing for Allan's arrival! That Linds too will have no unforseen problems accepting the delivery.

I was sent this cute "Catholic Dictionary" that I thougth i could share. But i think it could also be called the Lutheran,Baptist,Episcoal or whatever group one belongs to's dictionary AMEN The only part of a prayer that everyone knows. BULLETIN Your receipt for attending Mass. CHOIR A group of people whose singing allows the rest of the congregation to lip-sync. HYMN A song of praise usually sung in a key two octaves higher than that of the congregation's range. RECESSIONAL HYMN The last song at Mass often sung a little more quietly, since most of the people have already left. INCENSE Holy Smoke! JUSTICE When kids have kids of their own. PEW A medieval torture device still found in Catholic churches. RECESSIONAL The ceremonial procession at the conclusion of Mass led by parishioners trying to beat the crowd to the parking lot. RELICS People who have been going to Mass for so long, they actually know when to sit, kneel, and stand. TEN COMMANDMENTS The most important Top Ten list not given by David Letterman. USHERS The only people in the parish who don't know the seating capacity of a pew |

Sandie when you finish your oven you can come and do my two. I agree with you I wouldn't have taken the chore of raising the two cubs but rather handed them to the proper Authority's. Also certainly would have released the one that did survive back to the wild before it got that size. These are wild animals who can turn on you in a heartbeat. I would not have it in the house for Thanksgiving Dinner or any other ,meal. I don't care if it is housebroken or does domestic work! His wife must be out of her gourd. There is no way I would be that close to a bear, let alone it being in my pool, hot tub, or to kiss me! That's crazy, and asking for trouble. I have seen pictures of what a bear can do to a human. Not pretty at all. Only bones were left! |

Well Karen. Now you'll really have a roller coaster ride. Did you even get time to "clean up". Oh and I wondered if Liz even made it out the driveway to head home. I had three trips like that to the hospital. Hope it's not false labor. Can't wait So Sorry George. I didn't even get mine clean!! I had to spray more cleaner on last night and let it sit over night. Now I have to bake that batter today cause it's supposed to be blazing hot tomorrow. Got to go to Santa Barbara tomorrow and "street walk" looking for people to participate in this mock trial. Jeeessshhh!!! Jill got your email and answered. |

I am in a quandry. I was chomping at the bit while looking at the dressage at devon site. The annoying thing was they have no prices for tickets mentioned other than the general admission seats for their grande finale on the last night of the show. The seating looks good in the stands by the show rings looks great. However, paranoid as i am, i took a looky at their photo policy. IF i were a "pro" they charge a $50 feee for credentials. They do say that we amateurs are ok to shoot but not in "the competition area". I wonder if that means within the show rings itself or also includes the grandstand seats where i would try to shoot from. I can see their concern for properly credentialling the professionals as Horse Show Photography is BIG MONEY for those who do it well. However, i am not and have no itent on selling any of my images. The information on the pro form requests business name and website info and also contact info for the competitors to get shots if they want. I think that also there will be an area for spectators to purchase images from the show's Official Photographer. (this is one thing that is good with digital images. The working pro at events such as this can have a small table or area where they can instantly print out images for spectators instead of only being able to take orders to deliver to them after they send it to the photo lab) While I have ridden in the past for work, i know NOTHING about dressage or horses in general. I have often however been mistaken for the south end of a north bound horse

Welllllll...here's the short saga. We are all home and no baby yet. She has a bladder infection and was dehydrated which set her into labor. The contractions have pretty much subsided and she is feeling ok but very tired, of course. She is very susceptible to bladder infections in pregnancy as she got them a LOT with Jossy. If they had admitted her as they as planned at one point, she would have been in ICU as she is considered preterm according to her due date. But she is home and is on bed rest. A little hard when you have a 5 yr. old. Luckily, Jossy is in school for part of the day and Kris will be here so he can help. Soooooo LOOOOOONG night! Jim ended up coming home at 1am to get some sleep and I came home with Lindsay's 2 girlfriends around 2:45 am and slept off and on. Linds and David got home about an hr. ago. Jim took one of the girls to the airport for her flight back home to NY. and her other friend is leaving soon to go back home to Idaho. Oh yeah! Thanks for all your prayers and concerns They are as always very much appreciated! Cruzers ROCK!
