Hey Jill:

Is that your classic car? What a beauty!!! IDid I know that you were into classic cars, too? My husband has a '48 cadillac.
:)^

Well, I think you may have known! Yes, that's our Olive, she's a 1931 Town Sedan. Danish Days is the only day I fly my Danish flag, a vimple, on her! Is your DH a member of the A.A.C.A.(Antique Automobile Club of America)?

Oh no you forced me to unearh this but i actually prefer the original version by Bo Diddly in 1960

I still remember the HUGE fins on the back of my parent's 58 Funeral parlor Black Caddillac Eldorodo . The fins on that sucker were leathal weapons as were the HUGE bias ply tires on it. (not cheap even in the 60s but the retreads were there for the cost conscious to get)

from the lyrics ....
I'm drivin' a '48 Cadillac With
Thunderbird wings
Tellin' you baby, that's a runnin' thing
I got wings that'll open
And get her in the air
I think I can take it away from here

Interesting imgates of vintage street rods but not classic stock versions

After the best Rosh Hashanah weekend ever with temps in the mid 80's, we are now experiencing :rn: and overcast conditions...it is now 61F but things are going to improve for the rest of the week with a return to hot :*: days.

I see I have missed a lot of gorgeous images since I've been gone.

Glad you came back Mr. and Mrs. Goose
I have bookmarked your slideshows for later viewing along with Karens and Marti's too. :chk:

George, I copied your religious definitions to print out for my Mom...she will get a big kick out of those :)^

Jill, all your pictures are great, but loved the very first one of the flowers...

And that first picture of the roses, they were all together like that! I didn't check to see if they came off of one plant, but how could they? :D

When I took the picture of the two horses the guy was backing them up. I think they really wanted to go forward! :P

Love the picture of your Dad! Please tell him my DH & I send belated birthday greetings to him! :D

<::: Eagle Release at Westover Plantation in Virginia from Friday

"It ended up flying towards a house and then land low in a tree. Then it hung upside down for a while until Ed walked up to it saying "come on" and it flapped it's wings and righted itself on a branch. Kinda funny to see an Eagle hanging by one talon from a limb. :D It then flew off towards the cornfield which was plowed and sat there for a bit until Ed got it to fly towards a tree line."

As you remember, a month ago Jewel and Tina, two Asian elephants, were brought to the Elephant Odessey at the SDZ and placed in the special needs area. They were taken from the owner of a circus in Texas...both were under weight and had many medical problems. Well, after their first check up they have both gained at least 200 pounds!!! They seem to be very vocal and are full of personality. Looks like they are doing very well.

Chiquita - What happy news about the elephants. I hate circuses and how these innocent animals are treated. Thanks for the update.

Nice shots of the NBG eagle! AS well as all of the other shots!

Glad the elephants are doing so well. They moved the elephants out of our zoo here for space reasons and the lack of money for them to build a suitable enclosure for them.

Just got off the phone with my podiatric surgeon's office staffer. Pending the receipt of the blood work and the clearance from my primary care doctor, the surgery is scheduled for tuesday october 13 :X:

Then about 2 to 3 weeks with a cast over the forefoot and one of those huge boot thingys they put over the foot so i can walk, i will be ready to polka by november if all goes well :X: (now i will have to unearth my frankie yankovic, jimmy sturr and myron floren recordings)
