As you know All Eagles All The Time 2009/2010 is an Archival/History in Videos and Still captures showing the various stages throughout the year in the lives of the Eagles on the West End Nest on Catalina Island.

Because there were camera readjustments made during the winter months .. it wasn't until February 19th, 2010, that we saw the eagles doing some Nestorations and the crib rails .. long sticks ... were put in place.

Lots of bonding has taken place on the nest and on March 7th, 2010, Wray remained on the nest and some observers thought that she had laid her first egg and was incubating. However due to camera interference it was impossible to see or prove this. The first sighting of the egg was at 5:51am on March 8th.

So here we are ... onto the next important stage ... Eggs and Incubation.

The Videos/Stills and Screen Captures .. posted here on this thread .. have been selected .. as their favourites ... by the members who have captured them on Nest Watch.
You can see more videos, and still pictures, by visiting the Daily Observations thread. Also known as Nest Watch

Again we ask you not to post comments in this thread. VIEWING ONLY PLEASE! This will enable faster viewing by Dr. Peter Sharpe and the IWS Team ... for record purposes .... and also for members and visitors to the forum.

Capturers are asked to wait until Cumbrian or EDblue (Eagle Duo) posts the first thread of each day before reserving a space for your captures of the day to keep continuity to the archives.

I will try to fix the WE cam today. The wind may have blown the antennas out of alignment.

West End Nest. Tuesday, March 9th, 2010 *

On Tuesday I checked on the WE nest and was able to get some footage, which tells us that the problem is not at the nest, which is good news.
While I was there I spotted another adult flying in the direction of the nest so I assumed it was one of the pair. When I looked down to the monitor and saw both adults already at the nest so, apparently, this was a third adult in the area. As soon as it flew over the nest both adults took off after the intruder leaving the egg unattended for 18min. I recorded it all but the third adult never came into view, so no ID, but I did see two orange wing markers.

Catalina Update: Thursday, March 11. 2010

There's something wrong with one of our link of the WE nest cam but the problem is not at the nest fortunately. I checked on the eagles yesterday. It looks like still 1 egg.
I will work on the WE cam and posting the update tomorrow.

Sorry, No Videos Today!

Message above the camera
March 12: Strong winds and other electronics problems have degraded the signal. We will work on the transmission over the next few weeks. Until then I'll leave the feed at 1 frame/sec with no audio.
