Another Eagle year has come and gone and the first of many IWS tours was claimed this past week.

Please use this thread to share your experience and photos of your IWS tour!

Every Cruzer sees and experiences something different when they visit Catalina and IWS and it's great to hear about and "see" the fun!

So if you are one of the 2009 NAC winners now claiming your IWS tour, when you get home (or if you have wi fi :<:: ) - share your story! :clk:

Your IWS Tour Report will be like Steffani's and Stephanie' IWS Weekly Updates! ;)

We had a great time with Steff on our tour, left the office about about 10:00, we saw the Rattle Snake nest Darwin was having a blast just running and playing fetch then on to Pimu and Hydie, Tashi, buffalo, 3 Island Fox, Two Harbors and lunch and played on the beach with Darwin he had a great time in the water and the water was cold but the weather was great.

My friend Esther and I stayed at the Villa Portofino in February – a great facility with friendly, helpful staff. Steffani was our guide for the IWS tour and, of course, did a great job of it. Here are a few photos – the rest can be seen here.

It’s been many years since I have seen Catalina and I had forgotten how beautiful it is. We had incredibly great weather the entire weekend. We did a lot of walking and shopping. Highlights of our trip (besides our IWS tour of course) included a movie and organ concert at the Casino theater, the Casino Museum, and the rock art at Descanso Beach.

We enjoyed many delightful meals and highly recommend Armstrong Seafood, Mr Ming’s, Jack’s (breakfast), Joe’s (chili cheese omelet-YUM), The Landing (check out their “South of the Border” menu). Had great Margueritas at both Armstrong’s and The Landing. Didn’t get a chance to try the Ristorante Villa Portofino so will save that for next time. The only disappointing meal we found was at the Mediterranean Cafe.

Can't wait for another opportunity to visit Catalina.

Happy for you that your time on Catalina was during the break in the stormy weather that came thu in a lot of Feb.

Great pix, JoJo! Looks like you had a great time. I don't remember any rock art at Descanso but am intrigued and will have to check it out when I go. I see you were as enthralled with the Garibaldi at the boat dock as I was - I took hundreds of photos of them! Is that a little ray down there with the Garibaldi or a small shark? What is that???
