As you know All Eagles All The Time 2011/2012 is an Archival/History in Videos and Still captures showing the various stages throughout the year in the lives of the Eagles on the Sauces Canyon Nest on Santa Cruz Island.

We watched the eagles start their Nestorations in September 2011, when they started to bring in branches.

Lots of bonding has taken place on & off the nest and ... on March 2nd, 2012 at 6:41pm .. A-27 laid their first egg.

So here we are ... onto the next important stage ... Eggs and Incubation.

The Videos/Stills and Screen Captures .. posted here on this thread .. have been selected .. as their favourites ... by the members who have captured them on Nest Watch.
You can see more videos, and still pictures, by visiting the Daily Observations thread. Also known as Nest Watch

Again we ask you not to post comments in this thread. VIEWING ONLY PLEASE! This will enable faster viewing by Dr. Peter Sharpe and the IWS Team ... for record purposes .... and also for members and visitors to the forum.

Capturers are asked to wait until Cumbrian or EDblue (Eagle Duo) posts the first thread of each day before reserving a space for your captures of the day to keep continuity to the archives.

STRATEGIES of INCUBATION!

March 4, 2012

Quote from Steffani ... Catalina Update: February 15, 2012 ...

"It is normal for the eagles to not incubate their first egg right away.
They tend to wait until the whole clutch has been laid to fully incubate their eggs in the hopes that they will all hatch at relatively the same time, so not to worry if, once TH and WE eagles lay their first eggs, they don’t sit on them right away; they know what they’re doing."

(Obviously this applies to the PH & SC eagles too)
