Hello Peter, Today the cam was zoomed in very tight, on his legs, when K24 was on the nest, feeding. Two References on N.W. --- THE SCREEN CAPTURES BELOW MY QUESTION., Cumbrian/Pat's captures AND Naturegal/Carole's captures of the zoomed in cam. First--It appears the hook is gone. What is your opinon on that score? Second- K24's unbanded leg looks quite swollen, in comparison to banded leg? Could it be that K24 dislodged the hook and what appears to be swelling , is an infection of some kind, from the hook and resulting bruise? In your experience, if there is an infection, do the birds have a good immune system that would naturally clear up any infection from a foreign object, stuck in their body this long? Thanking you in advance, Karen Cumbrian's captures ... ![]() ![]() Naturegal's captures ...

It looks like the hook is gone, but I need to see the outside of the toe before it is conclusive. The foot is not swollen, it is a mirage. You see the leg coming down and the hind toe going back and they look like one swollen part. I think if there were an infection it would be at the wound site and the toes look the same as on the other foot. |

Thank you Dr Sharpe. I know what you are saying, but guess my old eyes cannot separate where the two meet. I did however see on your close up a few minutes ago, that the leg no longer looked swollen, but the toe did ??? or is it just me  |

I'm sure Dr. Sharpe is happy and relieved that he doesn't have to go try to capture K24 now. I bet K24 is relieved too.
