Do you know what might cause some pairs of eagles to build (rebuild) their nests in Nov/Dec, like K81 and K82 versus in Jan/Feb? Do you believe nest building instincts are based on climate/daylight hours? Or perhaps variations such as sickness, old age, availability of food? Or perhaps the amount of time (as in months) after the last offspring leaving the nest? Thank you for educating us! |

It is probably day length, which is currently similar to that in the spring. |

Would that explain why they change the location of the nestbowl during this time of year and the actual breeding season? Does it have something to do with the position of the sun on the nest or am I reading too much into this? |

I don't think it would have anything to do with the location of the sun. It is probably where it is comfortable to lay down. |
