Dr. Sharpe - Over the past several days it has been quite stressful for A-27 and A-40 tending to their 2 eggs. Obviously there is an intruder in the area and they are threatened. A-27 returned to the nest pretty messed up one day but is healing well. The eggs are left alone quite a bit while they are out chasing the intruder. Is there any possibility on your next trip to Santa Cruz Island when viewing the Sauces nest, you can keep an eye out for another eagle/juvie or other bird and let us know what you saw? Thanks! |

Yes, maybe someone could see for sure whether she was injured or just dirty, and of course who is the intruder... |

I'm interested to hear if its her eating dead stuff (as Wray did when she was a redhead for one season) or if in fact she had to battle an intruder. Thanks Peter! |

I'm trying to catch up quickly - has A27 been seen since Monday morning? The last visit I saw in a very quick read through the NO threads was a very brief appearance at about 9:12 am on the 4th. |

I've asked for someone to go out and see if they can see the Sauces birds in the next day or two. |
