Hi Dr. Sharpe, I've noticed that it's not uncommon for a pair to mate shortly before the female lays an egg, and am wondering if that helps lubricate things making it easier for her to lay the egg - or if it's mostly coincidence. Thanks! |

They just mate frequently during the breeding season, which helps insure the eggs get fertilized. |
