Mating throughout the year?

Dr Sharpe, I just read something said (re: another nest, on Facebook) that Bald Eagles can and do mate throughout the year as a part of bonding but there is a two-week window where the hormones are right for producing eggs. I know the second part is incorrect because of what we've seen on SC nest this year but is there any truth to the first part?

They may bond some outside of the breeding season, but most bonding would take place from a few months before egg laying through the egg-laying season.
