Hello Dr. Sharpe. I really enjoyed watching the banding today on TH. I didn't see a backpack attached to K-43 and wanted to confirm that you are no longer using them. |

Thanks for posting the question Laurie ... was coming over to do the same. When we say backpack, we are referring to the radio telemetry ones used prior to this on Catalina. We were watching when you put K-43 down on the ground to draw blood and it seemed she was up very quickly. Did we miss the backpack being put on or does the new budget not allow you the luxury of having the radio telemetry to use from now on? |

We are no longer using transmitters on any of the islands. Fewer personnel for tracking and no real new information being obtained were a couple of reasons for the decision. |

Thank you for the response. While there was no real info provided by the transmitters, I remember at least one trapped eaglet was found and rescued from a tight spot because of the transmitter so there was some value for which we are all thankful. |
