Was wondering the condition of the eaglet that fell at Rattlesnake nest and had surgery for two broken legs on June 27,2014 and her prognosis?

Any update on K46's surgery?

The surgery went well. She seems to have soft bones, which could be a calcium deficiency. Recovery is going to be at least 6 weeks and she will be x-rayed again in 3 weeks to see how the healing is going.

Thanks, Dr. Sharpe!

An additional question - will supplements (or lots of bony fish or something) help harden or strengthen K46's bones while she's in rehab? Or is that something that she needed while they were developing?

Thanks for all you do, and thanks as well to Dr. Weldy.

Thank you Peter.
Do you think she will still be able to be released back on Catalina?

We won't know whether she is releasable until the pins are removed and she gets some exercise.
