How come nobody reminded me to change the clock on my settings? I'll go try, but I think I forgot how to do it. It's been a whole week, too!Aha, I did it! |

Good morning all Marsha, I haven't answered your question about the cat's ear. It looks like a wide flat V shape. I am so upset. I was going to take food out in the morning two days ago, and when he came over, was going to try to get Smokey in the carrier and take to the vet for a check. He hasn't shown up for two days. Hope he is okay and found a kind soul to feed him. Took "My Little Boy" to the vet yesterday. He was having issues (had the runs) and back and forth to litter box..... and yes, he continued to faithfully use the litter box! Good Boy!! The vet got a sample and tested it. Worms. He gave me seven syringes - no needle - it just dispenses a thick liquid like pudding - which I give to him once a day. The vet gave him the first one to demonstrate. And true to the vets word - HE LIKED IT! Then in 14 days I give him one dose of something else (have to look at paperwork, forgot what it is for). Also gave me about ten cans of special cat food to eat for a while. He is not crazy about it but when he gets hungry, he nibbles a little at a time. The vet said this food would "firm things up". It's working!!He seems back to his old self! I let him out on the enclosed porch this morning and he is laying in the sun. If I am on the computer, he will jump up in my lap, put his front paws on my shoulder and give me lovie headbutts! So cute. He got carried away yesterday and I suddenly realized that he had all four feet standing on my shoulder. (I was afraid if he lost his footing and dug his claws in....OUCH! But he got down, no damage. Hope Smokey shows up today..... |

It is one hour later from above post. Checked outside again. Opened the door..... and Smokey walked right into the enclosed porch!!! No fear!! Meeeoooow! Feed me! Quickly placed Little Boy in the house and opened the porch door again and gave Smokey a nice dish of food. Hopefully, he will return tomorrow morning. Quick Dr. visit, then home for breakfast!

Hi, wonderful people. Just wanted to say Hello. I need to go pick up the glasses I ordered three weeks ago. I hadn't heard from them and called. They have been leaving messages on my cell phone, which I hardly ever use. Sigh... Sending prayers for Laurie. BBL, maybe. Gotta write something for my class tomorrow, though. I'm fresh out of ideas. Gotta think of something. Writing one or two things a week gets difficult sometimes and I feel like my brain is entirely empty. Then, usually, some idea pops into my head. |

Mina those are usually the best kind Marti so glad Smokey showed up. Someone else is probably feeding him also. So good thing that your little boy is feeling better. Worms certainly can't be very pleasant. Glad the medicine is working. We have been having all kinds of war planes flying overhead. Guess it's an air show maybe at the base. Friday when we went to Santa Barbara there was some kind of war plane that was flying practically on the deck and super fast So I've been doing genealogy for awhile now and seemingly stuck. Then I found someone on line from my Great Grandmother's family. She sent me a picture of my Great Grandmothers Father. I had that picture but wasn't sure who it was. Nice to know!!!

HI Catm, Mina, and Marti. Marti, I'm so glad Smokey came back. You might have to just have the vet take a look at it. Hoping that Little Boy's tummy/worms issue heals up. Which brings me to post, I'm back early from the feral clinic, because we had 11 vets show up. I think there were about 75 cats. Many of the big toms were waking up out of the anesthesia way tooooo early. GRAB CAGE #!!!!One cat I groomed had a weird birth defect. I've groomed polydactyls before, but this cat had only extra toes on one foot. Usually the poly shows up on both front paws or both back paws, etc..., but this cat had what really looked like an extra foot was starting to develop in the fetal stage, on the back right paw. Other than that the cat looked perfectly healthy. Okay, time to go change out of the pewwwwww clothes. Later friends. |

Hi Marsha - you had a busy, busy day! Interesting about the foot! When Smokey came to me this morning (didn't run off right away) I got a better look at the backside..... I don't think he's fixed. I was going to take him to the vet on the assumption that he was fixed and we could just take care of the other stuff. I'm afraid if I capture him into carrier, car ride to vet and all that entails..... that IF he is not fixed, he won't give me another chance for a looooong time to get that close again! Soooo, his appt. is just two weeks away, so I think I'll wait. Less trauma for all concerned. When I had Little Boy at the vet, I remembered to ask if they could trim his nails (with one holding and the Dr. clipping). It went fast and his daggers are gone!!

Marti, I am so glad Smokey showed up. I think you are wise to wait to take him to the vet. Good luck! Sandie, good news on your family history! I found several people online that really helped me when I was working on DH's family - especially in Denmark where all of his father's family was from. Great fun "meeting" relatives online. Marsha, I had a polydactyl cat many years ago. She only had the extra toes on the front. She was such a sweet cat. I hadn't thought about her in years. Thanks for all you do for all the ferals. I had written a post just before I had to get ready for tomorrow and puff - battery ran out on the tablet!!! I kicked DH off the laptop when I finished my shower so I could response. Now I will have dinner then more football. I hope everyone has a great evening.

Well, I'm back, clean and refreshed. Marti, whichever you decide to do, it will work out. Don't fret. Catm, I've heard polys make great pets. I've never personally had one, though. They are so interesting!!!!! Another interesting cat case today, was a cat that was described as a Scottish Fold, but the ears did not flop over. They were more arch-like or semi-circled and real thick. The ear tipper could not tip the either ear, because it probably would have bled too much or come out like a mess. Every clinic, there's something different or new. I didn't work/groom this kitty. |

Hi Peeps I finally made it here today and it's after 8:00PM our time ![]() ![]() I had a good day with Mom and took her to the Chapel in Amber Meadow for a church service this afternoon which was very nice. There will be some special things happening for tomorrow and Remembrance Day which I will make sure she gets to. But then I was very upset to find out nobody came from HomeCare to escort my Mom to her supper tonight Luckily I called her and when she was still at home by 5:20PM I told her to take her walker and go by herself, which she did. However, she did not get her meds until 7:00PM which she is supposed to get at 5:30PM. These are the kinds of things that are constantly happening. We feel they are actually jeopardizing my Mother's life and there is NO ONE to talk to on the weekends  'After Hours' makes you wait for at least 20 - 45 minutes to talk to someone who won't do anything but record the I am beyond aggravated!!!! Tomorrow we'll be trying to get them to reschedule the visits because once again Tuesday is a holiday and there will be different people 'working' that will have the wrong schedule. ARRRRGGGGHHH !!!!Our Wednesday meeting with them can't come soon enough ![]() |
