Wonderful graphics and words this morning! Thanks to each of you. Our IT guy just called. He has the flu and DH told him not to come here until he is completely over it. My immune system doesn't work well and I cannot fight off diseases so I need to stay as far away from sick people as possible. That is very hard to do! So, DH will be without his computer until Friday or Saturday. :(. I will have to continue to use my tablet until then. |

![]() Click on picture to take action ![]() I wrote the following: "Monsanto has developed 'food safe' pesticides after genetically altering food crops to withstand chemicals that would normally kill any living plant. Imagine what they are doing inside your body. Bees who normally make honey for their hives to survive the winter have nothing but plastic in the combs from GM canola and other GM crops. Nobody is even talking about how these foods are killing insects that humans need to survive." Have you ever tried frozen GM Corn that was packaged for Walmart? It is not labeled but you can tell immediately that something is not right  Some fresh cobs we bought this summer actually changed colour when they were cooked so it all went into the garbage

Penny...Thanks for the photo of your Dad and his medals. I don't do PB so don't have pictures for the Forum. During WWII my father was on the USS Leedstown when it was torpedoed off the coast of Algiers...six of the survivors, including my father, had their picture taken after they were rescued...such a rag tag looking group proudly holding the US flag. It's one of my favorite photos of my father...DD put it up on FB this morning...made me feel proud. Chiquita |

Chiquita what an amazing 'war story'. if I was on FB I'd go get the of your Dad and the other survivors. Maybe someone who does FB could put it here. There must have been newspaper stories about them too. Just think, you wouldn't even be here if he hadn't made it I guess a lot of us wouldn't be here either ![]() My Dad served with the Army Corps of Engineers. There is going to be a Remembrance Day event at Amber Meadow after supper tonight. There are quite a few veterans who will be wearing their medals there. I plan on thanking them all for their service to our country

Hi Chiquita and Karen, Chqiuita, what a wonderful and historic story to share. I don't do FB either, but you can scan pics onto the computer then use Photobucket to share them. Printers/scanners are quite easy to use. It works great! Penny, what a nice shot of your handsome Father and his medals. |

The last of the poppies is planted: Thousands flock to Tower of London to see the final ceramic flower put in place by 13-year-old cadet as the nation falls silent to remember Britain's war dead.![]() click for lots more photos ![]() The final ceramic poppy has been planted at the Tower of London this morning, as the nation paid tribute to the millions of British servicemen who have died in conflict since the start of the First World War. The 888,246th poppy was planted by 13-year-old cadet Harry Hayes to mark the completion of Blood-Swept Lands And Seas of Red, the poignant memorial which has filled the Tower's moat and has attracted some five million visitors to the Tower of London. |

Penny...I am not connected with PhotoBucket but I am on FaceBook. I have been able to obtain tons of info on the USS Leedstown including the almost blow by blow accounting of it's sinking at the hands of the Germans...telling exactly where and when the bombs and torpedos hit. The first enemy attack occurred in the early morning of Nov. 6th 1942..finally on Nov. 9 the order was passed to abandon ship. As the life boats floated toward the beach, the Native French and Arabs helped in the rescue...even the children were helping. They arrived at the waterfront armed with bottles of wine and brandy giving the exhausted men refreshing sips The survivors were then taken to the movie theatre in the village and straw was spread on the floor for the men to rest on. I was four at the time. DF served 23+ years in the Navy. Chiquita |
