Good Morning Cruzers ![]() We have some light happening right now. Temp is -6C/21F with a high of -3C/27F today and for the next forseeable future it will be plunging colder each day ![]() I still have 4 large pots to tarp but I did manage to get the birdbath tarped and all 18 glass solar lights taken out of the garden yesterday. Only broke 4 stakes trying to get them out of the frozen ground. Serves me right for not doing it much earlier  |

Just dropping by to say Good Morning. I have two classes today, so it's going to be a busy day for me. Penny...Brrrrr!!! Too bad you're not spending the winter in Pasadena again. Carole, I love that photo of the leaves. I'm trying to get Pete and Ginn to take some pictures of leaves for the poetry book I'm putting together. The lead poem, and perhaps the title of the book, is Listen to the Leaves. It's a metaphor for listening to old folks because they have lived so many experiences. We don't have the colorful leaves here except for the maples in January. |

MINA..Please do share some of your poems relating to the falling leaves and our elders. It is a beautiful metaphor. Today there were many touching stories in our paper at different Veteran's Day ceremonies around our large County...very touching. ![]() PENNY I hope things go well with the meeting with the staff/admin. who are caring for your Mother and your intuitiveness will sense whether they are just giving you lip service or not.

The poppies start to come down: Hundreds of volunteers begin to remove ceramic flowers from Tower of London moat![]() Click for more The first shift, decked out in wet weather gear, began pulling up the 888,246 hand-made flowers that make up Blood Swept Lands And Seas Of Red this morning, despite heavy showers. Their arms filled with the flowers' stems as they made their way through the moat, the volunteers then dismantled the poppies, placing them into cardboard boxes. Around 1,000 people a day, many of whom were among the 19,000 who 'planted' the flowers in the Tower moat between July and Armistice Day, will spend two weeks pulling and packing the flowers, with some 8,000 expected to take part overall. |

What a tremendous labor of love!!! Karen thanks for posting that link. One day we will learn more about "things" in the sky. Loved the picture of Captain Kirk  The producer I worked for was (I think) involved with that movie. Chiquita I too was drawn to your fathers picture. They are all hansom men and dedicated to their "tasks". If I remember correctly the young "mind" on criminal minds tv program wears his gun exactly like that. However he is left handed  I am looking thru a lot of old pictures and sharing them with my new found relative and so is she! My very first is from their side of the family. I'm hoping they will send me pictures of then and now. I remember I was "dating" two guys at approx. the same time. Alvin and Girard. Alvin was from the family and Girard was from the city I lived in. Well, Alvin was around one day and so was Girard My Auntie suggested the boys mow the lawn. That prompted a mow-off between them. I remember Auntie pulling me over to the window to watch them!! She said you'd think they were in a competition to win your hand!!! OK now I have to figure out how to down load a video that I took of my friend's mom's 90th birthday. We asked her a bunch of questions about her life in her early years. What a kick. She told us about her to be husband sitting in the balcony of a movie theatre with another lady. She was told about it and she went to the movie and had a physical fight with the girl. She was raised around boys......she won!!!! Someone asked the manager if he wasn't going to stop the fight. He said are you kidding this is better than the movie!!!! BBL!
