![]() Good morning Cruzers and HAPPY FRIDAY!!! Yay. We have a dusting of snow on the ground with little flurries floating through the air. My Raymond will be home this time next Friday - Can't wait to see my boy. He's made Special Forces training - He's on his way to being a Navy Seal. Lots of training needs to happen before then. In December he will be temporarily assigned to a Navy Seal Team for 45 days for specialized training before he moves on to Great Lakes , ILL for some EOD/Dive School training. Lukes doing good. Did I tell you that Luke made the Para-Olympics Sled Hockey Team? Here's a webcam that you may find fun. A kitty cam. It's my little destresser at work - a few minutes here and there brightens my day. http://sportsmansparadiseonline.com/Friend..._Kitty_Cam.html Hope you all have a terrific Friday.

Very exciting news at the SB Zoo - Audrey gave birth to her 3rd baby on 11/13/14 at 1:45 pm, a boy named Buttercup by the sponsors. She was in labor for 1 hr 45 min. Buttercup stood up after 15 min. Not on exhibit yet. Betty Lou is due in March 2015. Our anteater, Anara gave birth to a baby boy last week. Weight 4.25 lbs. at birth - typically pups are about 3 lbs at birth. Anara had twins on March 1, 2014 but was unable to handle twins - she gave attention to the girl who did not make it - the zoo staff raised the boy - he is doing well and will be going to Staten Island Zoo next week. |

Marsha, hope you feel better! I had a scratchy throat Saturday (thought it was the drier air we were getting). Sunday, I was coughing. Monday, Tuesday, still coughing. Wednesday, cold starting in my head. Miserable..... Yesterday, had to go to the store for some things. Also got cough drops, cough syrup and 12 hour capsules. No fun. I told my friend at the music jam not to expect me Saturday. My cough could drown out the band! Even if I felt like it, I don't want to get everyone else sick! Stay well everyone. |

Marti I'm so sorry you are feeling so bad. Did you get a flu shot? Since I have been getting a flu shot I don't get sick like I used to. Or if I do it is much less severe! This is the season tho for all of to get sick so be careful and take good care of yourself. Smart not to go for your sake but we are all exposed every time we breathe or touch something!Laurie that led hardly seems wide enough to perch on. What's he supposed to do with that????? Cute Cute Cute guy and is the black lab his service dog? Betty "my hippy sister" used to have his picture hanging on her fridge. She.....well all of are so very proud of him. Ray Ray is amazing!!! Have you posted a picture of him lately? Or can we no longer see his face since he is a Seal? Whatever is the case tell him we are extremely proud of him. I bet you and his buddies can hardly stand it how greatly proud you are of him. Snow REALLY? Denver is just getting pelted. We finally got some rain. Twice in one month. >0< Marsha take it easy. Those kids need you!! Carole scary but also bust your buttons proud. I'm glad for you but don't think I'd be a very good mother/wife of a soldier. I have a tremendous pride for those that are. Sheila BABIES Maybe this time I can come up and see them. When will they go or it rather will go on display. Do you know a woman named Ivett? she works at the zoo! I told a friend of hers about the job with Peter. that works out for her. From what I hear she loves birds. The fence around the back of my place is coming down today. Now I won't feel so darn confined! WOO HOO

Sandie - Check this video out. You'll have a better understanding of "Sled Hockey". It's truly and amazing sport. http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/medal-quest/ice-warriors/ (No Luke is not in this video) This video is our US Olympic Sled Hockey Team from last years Olympics. Ray is not a Navy Seal yet. He still has a ways to go but is starting some of the training now. Nope - no recent pictures of my boy - he just doesn't like to have his picture taken. Will try to get a mug shot when he is home. We have lake effect snow shower happening right now. Yuck! Marti - sorry you are not feeling well. So many people are sick here at work - started the first week of classes in September. I finally went and got a flu shot a couple weeks ago. Not taking any chances.

Sandie - I have a while to start worrying about Jeremy. He just started at this new college in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia and will do a co-op program, part school and part military training. He is studying marine engineering so it will probably be the navy. I'll know a lot more when he comes down to Florida in the middle of December to holiday and play golf with us, can't wait Sheila - Congrats to Audrey, I think it was baby #2 that I saw at the SB Zoo, so cute Congrats also for Anara on her new baby boy, such exciting news from the zoo. Good hearing from you, visit more often, we miss you Laurie - Luke is gorgeous, what a smile and attitude Marsha - Hope you are feeling better soon , glad you took the day off.Marti - Hope you feel better very soon

Marti, Carole, and Sandie, thanks so much. You guys are great! Actually, I do feel a bit better. In the past, we'd have our jacuzzi filled, and I'd go soak. It costs about $100 extra dollars a month, so we've stopped using it, but it sure sounds really goooooood now. Carole, how proud you and Alan, must be.
