Penny, will your mom have 24/7 on site help. If there is some bad weather and the roads are bad, how do they handle it? With everything else, now you have to worry about the roads.

Marsha thanks for the link to the fleece blanket 'How To' videos. I watched a few of them ![]() Marti the tigers blanket is really gorgeous. I like the way the fringes were tied with the plain side on the front and the patterned side on the reverse ![]() My Mom doesn't go to the breakfast everyday because she wants to relax and not rush to get dressed and go to the dining room for 8:00AM. I keep her supplied with instant oatmeal, bread, yogurt, milk, peanut butter, Boost plus fruit that is not available there. They only have oranges and apples and bananas, so I get her pears, grapes, mandarins, prunes etc. and buy her dried fruit which I stew so she can use it on her morning oatmeal ![]() Mom never lets me know whe she is running low on items so I have to check when I am there to make sure she doesn't run out of anything otherwise I get a panicked There was a notice from the Hospital in her mailbox last week. They charged her $35 for a haircut I was shocked because all of the nursing staff knew that they had to check with me before doing any medical interventions and that I should be consulted if there were any other issues that came up. I did notice one day I came that Mom had a new 'do' so I asked her about it and she said "Oh one of the girls here gave me a haircut". She couldn't tell me who that girl was so I just forgot about it. Yesterday I sent an EM to the Hospital accounting office that I wasn't going to pay that bill and the reasons why. My Mom tells me every day that she needs a haircut and if she had another one today she wouldn't remember it tomorrow Someone on the nursing staff took her to the salon, but even if they told her what it would cost she wouldn't say anything and forget it immediately. She was really shocked when I showed her the bill because she didn't even remember having a haircut ![]() |

Good Morning Chat Friends! Hi Penny, Marti, Karen, and Lala. Thanks Penny, now I'm going overboard on these things. Thinking of your Mom. It's very very cold in your part of the planet. Brrrrrr!!!!!Karen, that is a gorgeous! When I went to Armenia, we flew on an Air France Airbus to Paris. There were not 800 people, but still about 500 or 600- a double decker air plane. I had never been on any plane that large, before. Thanks Jill, for sharing that video. |

I wasn't on the forum yesterday as I spent 6 hours in the ER at our local hospital. Sunday night I had severe pains in my lower right side and I thought it was appendix. The pains subsided for a bit and I got a few hours sleep. Upon getting up yesterday morning I went to my GP and he said it could be a number of things but he wanted to rule out appendicitis. My temperature was 100.3 but when I got to the ER, it was normal. After several blood tests, urine analysis and a Cat Scan, appendix was ruled out but unfortunately I have a kidney stone.
The ER doctor said it was small enough to flush itself out, but it is a very uncomfortable process I see my GP tomorrow and give him all the test results the hospital printed out for me. Right now I'm not feeling too bad, a tiny bit of pain but I can't go out with this situation. My GP's nurse had the same thing and told me to drink beer, that makes you go a lot, but I'll wait to see what the doctor says. I do have strong pain medication, Percocet if I need it but only took 1 before I went to sleep last night. I hope all this doesn't interfere with our going to Florida on December 10th
