Linda, I like your Ho Ho Ho signature. That really brightened the page.

Ohhhh, feeling really tired. After leaving the hospital about 4:00, I stopped by the feral cats to check on them before coming back home. They were waiting to get fed, so tonight they'll sleep with full bellies. <3

Good night dear friends. :Zz:

Oh boy Marsha the ER is a dreaded place to have to go to. Did they admit her? At least lets hope while she is there they will care for her and she will feel better. :X:

I guess the rain is continuing for a little while more but mostly south of Los Angeles. The rain has certainly taken a huge toll on my bones. I almost had to go to ER last night but took more medicine here at home which is what they would probably have done if I had done the ER trip.

I know I live in Southern Caliornia, but I am soooo cold! My2-story house has only a wall furnace, not central heating and this damp air just chills me through. I bought an electric tower heater, but need to get an extension cord to use anywhere but in the kitchen.

Carole, sending healing lovies to you. I hope your problem gets resolved in time to make your trek to Florida as planned.

Laurie in California, I hope you got home OK and that the trip to Catalina didn't wear you out too much.

Laurie in freezing cold New York, stay warm!

Marcia, I hope your trip to see your mother works out O.K. It's always to hard to see our parents' health failing. I made many trips to the east coast when my mom and dad were ill.

Hi, Sandie, Cat, and whoever I can't think of right now.

JILL PHILADELPHIA CHICKENS.... rofl rofl rofl rofl

MARSHA...sorry you had such a trying day with SIL..hope she behaves and co-operates with med. staff. Better you are driving to LA tomorrow...rain should be out of here by 9:00 or so...better you are not driving in the rain and dealing with terrible drivers. :)^

MINA.. Do you have an electric blanket to keep you nice and warm to sleep. During the day...layer up...but not comfortable sleeping in layers...that is for sure. How can you have lived here all these years and not have heat of some kind in your home? Winter is usually cold and damp at times in the Winter. :Hugs:

JANN...THANK YOU! This is very exciting news! :**: :**:

On the link...I see that K79..LUNA...2007 TH chick has also been seen very close to "home" in November. Maybe she is making her way back to Catalina. :X:

Here is an article about K79's Sighting and photos too. She is a 7 year old beauty!
http://www.dailybreeze.com/environment-and...nd-second-looks

2007 was the year DH and I discovered IWS ....and that summer we sailed our Windcatcher over to the Island and saw K79 & K78 up on the nest. Very exciting! That was the beginning of many many trips over to the Island to enjoy TR and TH eaglets and the parents.... up close and personal. We saw the WE fledges a few times too over the years...but could not anchor below that nest...too much kelp and swell.

Laurie are you still on Catalina? Are you coming home the same way? I loved that video of the mackerel and the raven and trying to make our eagle think there was something wrong so it could steal the fish. LOL rofl K46 was having none of that nonsense rofl

We got back today but had to make a detour. It was rainy and cloudy on Catalina and there was no visibility up at the airport, so we took the ferry to San Pedro and got a ride to the private craft side of Long Beach airport where the pilot met us to bring us home. I am exhausted. But we thoroughly enjoyed our time with Maria, even if the weather wasn't great.

We need to go through the pics and I'll post a few here very soon.

Yeah, the raven tried and tried but K46 just ignored it. Maria said that's what the raven was doing, trying to startle K46 into thinking something was wrong so he could steal the fish. I don't think this is K46's first go-round with the ravens.

Every day Maria goes out to look for her and gives her some fish, to make sure she can thrive. She had a rough start with her broken legs and her parents didn't pick up feeding her and teaching her to feed herself when she was released so until she starts to get it on her own, they will help her out. Maria said we are the only tour that will ever likely be that close to her like that because at some time she should start to explore further on her own and will be gone. I feel so honored to have witnessed that.

I re-uploaded the video of K-46 eating her mackerel while being harassed by a couple of ravens. This one plays all the way through.

:}^ Peeps I'm Baaack !!!!

I didn't have a virus (even though a voice told me I did and a huge message popped up to tell me what to do IMMEDIATELY!!!) It was all a phishing scam but I did have a very old operating system for Macs and none of the new ones could be downloaded on my machine. I couldn't update anything like Adobe flash player, because there was no room either :P Anyway, I ended up getting an iMac and I still have the laptop to take to my Mom's to show her all the :clk: 's etc, so it worked out.

Only took an overnight stay and several hours over two days to get everything uploaded and transferred over etc. Now I have a very fast computer but it also has a new operating system called; Lala will love this, Yosemite

It is taking my brain a bit of time to get used to another way of doing things :P

I just realized I posted at the end of the Dec 2 thread so I'm re-posting on the end of Dec 3rd when it is already the 4th :bld:

Laurie i'm so sorry to have missed your :bday: and I did have something I was going to post just when I got that scam EM :dvl:

Posted Image So here's a belated topsy turvey :bday: cake to enjoy :D

You looked so happy in the :clk: 's from your Catalina trip. What a fabulous way to celebrate your big 40 :```:

I <3 both your videos of K-46. She looks fabulous and I'm sure getting to see her really made your trip that much more special :)^

Carole I read you still have that pesky issue to deal with :( Don't let it get you down...this too shall 'pass' and then you will celebrate...especially since you will be back with your pond critters in a week :X: The cardinals look so gorgeous against the winter white through the trees. We never see them here so thanks for the photos :)^

Katie your GS's look so exuberant in that :clk: on their ride down the hill :D Martin did a fabulous job on setting up one of your villages too :)^ There are little pre-lit table top trees you could get instead of dealing with a large tree...no set up to do. I know you are aware of those. I'm getting one for my Mom's apartment even though her Residence has many trees of various sizes all over the place :D She is actually excited about Xmas this year.

Carol hope your pieces do well in the art show. I'd like to see the painting of your grandmothers house too.

We had a CAA guy here replacing our car battery this afternoon because it wouldn't start this morning after having it plugged in overnight :hair: He did a diagnostic on it and one cell is completely dead so it needed to be replaced and he added a trickle charger to keep it warm too. I'm just thankful it happened here and not when we were out somewhere. The last few days here have been severely frigid and we've been moving computers and shopping so it is a blessing it didn't happen when we were away from home :<:: Stay safe on the wintry roads in your area :ok:
