Cheyenne from Tennessee!!!! I think I will change her name but I don't know to what yet. Cheyenne seems a bit rough and tough and she is anything but that.

I picked her up at Delta Cargo in LAX at about 8:00 pm last night. As you see from the posting time I didn't get much sleep. First thing she did was lick my face she was so happy to get out of that awful crate. The plane trip must have been terrifying and she was covered with brown goo poor little girl. We gave her a little tootsie bath and headed home. I bought her a little rawhide stick and she hasn't stopped wagging her tail or chewing on it. I thought she'd fall asleep immediately but no way!!!

When Bernie saw her he kinda made his little noise of being scared. Then started whistling and talking. She did not know what to do at first.....she couldn't see him.

So lets see about 5 years ago I saw a little thing like this in a ladies lap on a job in Santa Barbara. I fell in love and from that moment on I have wanted one. About 3 weeks ago I started looking for one AGAIN!!! and no one in California had any puppies. I finally looked on puppy find dot com and after looking at 14 pages of cute but not quite right puppies. She was in the middle of the last page.. I knew the moment I saw her she was the right one. I was a little apprehensive getting her off the internet but I saw lots of pictures of her and her litter mates and the woman said she only does one litter a year. She sent me a video of her as she was putting her on the plane. She cried and so did I!!!

Her breed is called a Coton Du Toulear. She comes from Madagascar She has hair instead of fur (the softest possible feel on the planet) which was important to me because i'm allergic! She will probably weigh about 10 pounds. She is registered and has champion blood. Highly intelligent. She will become my service dog after she is finished with her focus on chewing rofl I will have to find a good trainer but for now she and I will go to puppy training at Petco for 6 weeks. She was born Sept 18 so she is about 11 weeks old. She loves to dance on her hind feet. It is so adorable. I cried when I found her and cried when I picked her up.

>O< :**: :><: :^:

I think I'm going to be a busy puppy mom for awhile.

Sandie - Cheyenne is so adorable  I am so excited for you, there's nothing better than a four legged companion. I have heard of this breed and they are such great lap dogs and they are smart.

Good luck with your training, and enjoy your new baby, I just <3 her

Sandie, what a great surprise!!! She is adorable. I gave in to lap dogs recently. In October I adopted a dachshund mix from the local shelter. She weighs 8-1/2 pounds and fits right in my with bigger dachshunds. I now have a pack of three.

Enjoy being a puppy mom. How can you not?

that is the cutest little puppy <3. She is going to make your life so much more joyous and fun. I hope you won't get too tired from the initial training but it will be so worth it and you don't have our adverse winter weather conditions to deal with :D

One hint for you...take her outside very often and always take her to a certain spot in the yard. When she is doing her business repeat the word for the action she is doing. After a short period of time, she will 'go' on command when you say the word(s). Some people use cute words but I just told Siobhan to go peepee or poopoo and she does it almost immediately. It's like Pavlov's dogs. This is particularly handy when we want her to go before boarding a plane or going on a car trip

Good Luck with the training :)^

Thanks, Carol for the darling cake. Of course I'm not sure I'd want to eat it after all those critters were on top of it!

Penny, I love that card. Those cats are so funny.

Penny - I also gave Maya the peepee command and poopoo command and always reward her for what she has done. She actually knows the difference between the two words rofl

Tis the Season....

:}^ :}^ Hello Cruzers,

Well we had a very cold low of 2 degrees this morning Brrr - We have since warmed up to 27 degrees. A mixed delight of sleet, freezing rain and snow later tonight. Guess it's a good night to stay home by the fire.

Happy Birthday Mina :bday: :bday:

Oh Sandie - Cheyenne is AWWWDORABLE!! Congratulations. <3 <3 <3

I'm hoping to get to putting my Christmas tree up this weekend.

I'm looking forward to our Christmas break coming up. I'm feeing a bit run down and exhausted. It will be good to unwind a bit.

Going back to work :}^ :}^ <3 <3

We have a dog door for our dogs and before we take them somewhere with us in the car, no matter where we are in the house, if we tell them to "go outside and go pee pee and poo poo" they will head for the dog door and go out to do their business because they know it means they are about to go somewhere with us, which they love!
