DH and I had a wonderful lunch. The couple next to us were so cute - married 65 years and still holding hands! It must have rubbed off on DH because on the way out he held my hand!! :D Usually he just hold my arm.

With the events past week, I've sort lost track of weather, except for So. Cal. East Coast friends, Linda, Deb, Carol, Carole - travelling, Laurie, and anybody else I missed, stay warm and safe.

Lots of wonderful posts this afternoon.

Oh Catm, isn't that so sweet!

Its almost nap time.

Hi all,

I'm on vacation at home this week. The plan was to sew and get the house ready for Christmas. So far I have wasted half a day with the cable company because their automatic set up didn't work so I had to be on the phone with a tech while we worked through the problems. Then I had the pleasure of picking up my grandson from school because both parents were working too far away to make it to school in time. So that was Monday.

Today, I brined a turkey breast that I will roast for dinner tomorrow. Having Thanksgiving at someone else's house doesn't provide my favorites -- left overs -- so I am making my own.

Sandie, love your pink hair and KeeKee's pink bow! If you are still looking for a vet, please check out Dr. Kaiser on Main Street near Catalina. When I lived in Ventura, he was my pets' vet and they loved him -- even the cats. Sorry, I finally discarded my Ventura phone book so can't give you his phone number.

Good wishes and hugs for all of you who need them right now. Seems like this December is being rather hard on many. Safe travels to Carole and family as they move to a warmer climate. I'm looking forward to the Pond Critters news.

Saw my local eagles yesterday on my way to Glenwood Springs to pick up my grandson. They are working on their nest already. Colorado eagles are crazy--they brood through the worst part of the winter. Either that, or the brief warm weather has fooled them into thinking it is time to get started.

MARSHA....Read your post that your Mother is being moved today. :X: :Hugs:

CAT & VIC... <3 + <3 :Hugs:

DEB...It is almost 7:00pm back East as I type this....Hope you are safely home and ES too...both snug as bugs in a rug.

CAROLE....Tomorrow the big day to begin your journey to sunshine and warmth....safe travels for you THREE. :Hugs:

KATHLEEN....So glad you saw your local :<<o>>: :<<o>>: pair today. Yes, we all fret for the Eagles that build and lay their eggs in such cold climates. CAROLE so kindly keeps us posted on nests that have Cams and posts as "Eagle News" each season. There is a Colorado nest in her reporting. We have watched many an eagle pair incubating in winds, snow and ice over the years. :o Mother Nature can sure be confusing at times on how and time of year, her creatures create new life.

Time to head to the kitchen pretty soon..:}^

Jill - Loved  the Air Force Band. :><:

Back from my surgical procedure. He had to shave a spot on the top of my head :( to take out the squamous cell spot but that part is good. :D I have to wait for Wes to get home to find out how many stitches I have. It's starting to hurt a bit as the numbing stuff wears off.

Marsha Hope your mom is resting well with the move. Prayers for you both. :Hugs:

Carole - Have a safe drive. With that big storm in the east it might be good to wait a day or two before leaving. Hope all goes well. :Hugs:

Wes took my sister to the airport so she is winging her way back to CO. :( She'll be back in the spring with my niece and grand nieces. :D

I'm going to go and take a little nap. :}^

Hi Peeps,

Laurie and Deb, hope you (and ES) are safe and sound back home.

catM, I love to see couples like that <3

Carole, safe travels. Can't wait to see pond critter pics!

I got my new iPhone last night and ended up staying up late getting it set up. Think I'm really going to like it. It may end up replacing both my Kindle and my iPad.

Its raining here, but nothing like how it sounds back east.

Hope everyone has a good night. I plan to head to bed early tonight.

Thanks Karen. Yeah, I didn't clarify that. She was moved to a nursing/skilled facility becaue the hospital says they can't do anymore for her. She is really unresponsive, but she is eating.

What's difficult, is that is a terminal situation for her. She stopped her blood thinner meds in summer ( I almost didn't go on my trip, but she was stable), because of complications, and we knew she was a high risk for a heart attack or stroke. The main thing is we don't want her suffer or be in pain. Karen, said they did give her morphine. It's just a matter of times- maybe days, weeks, or months. Only God knows. I AM JUST SO THANKFUL FOR THE BEAUTIFUL FAMILY I AM BLESSED TO HAVE. <3 <3 <3

kathleen - I hear ya - I luv the leftovers - we've come home and made a turkey just to have our own hehehe! enjoy

we've been thinking about a tree but didn't get to it a week ago - then camped last weekend so didn't get to it - ES is hiking this Sat so may not get to it yet - hmmm maybe we won't be able to get to it at all - oh no!

katie - huggies to you - take it easy and rest

yes I got home - the parkway was closed because of flooding but since it was closed all day - 95% of the traffic were obeying the signs and finding other routes - except me - I stayed on the parkway and got within 1/2 mile of the closure, so it was just a slow exit onto other road then up to service road where no one else was! ended up being 1/2 hour late getting home - ES worked so took later train - we're all good now - wind and rain finally gone!

enjoy your new phone Praline - ES got a new phone a month or so ago - verizon or the phone, are set so that the new phone automatically reloads all apps and everything! so the switch was really quit easy!

marsha :Hugs:

well I have some things I need to organize for a presentation I am doing tomorrow night about outings for scout groups! what was I thinking ..... :P

DEB...Glad you and ES are home safely in your nest. I guess more rain is in your future with this storm system. May be some tough driving for CAROLE & DH tomorrow...hope their route skirts this very wide storm system.

My whole post disappeared oh well I'm sure you can guess my responses  !!!

Penny how do you use Kool Aide? I was thinking about using something on KeeKee but didn't know what would be safe so I didn't. My hand and elbow are really hurting tonight. Gonna take pain meds and hope it helps.

How can you be upset over anything that looks like this?
