And for those that think Roundabouts are a problem, take a look at this. Unbelievable. Most Amazing Intersection! My conclusion after a couple of views, their vehicles have great brakes and the pedestrians are wearing Nike running shoes and Depends. This is what a major intersection with no traffic lights looks like. How they are able to avoid accidents is quite remarkable. In this time lapse video we see the intersection at Meskel Square, the nerve center of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. While the square is a primary site for the city's large festivals and celebrations, it is also a chaotic crossroad for thousands and thousands of vehicles daily. This is organized confusion at its finest. Pedestrians, walk with care! LOOK AT THE PEDESTRIANS! www.youtube.com/embed/UEIn8GJIg0E?rel=0 |

Hi Peeps, Happy Friday!! I am feeling a bit under the weather today - headache and stuffed up. Took some Emergen-C and will take another packet this evening. I don't have time to get sick! I think I am going to take a nice long nap when I get home from work tonight. The 2nd round of heavy winds never hit us yesterday. Just rain. Its raining today too. Supposed to get a break tomorrow. Looks like I am going to be a crazy cat woman. I currently have my 2 cats Sosche and Miles and my sister's cat Mabel. When I adopted Miles 6 years ago he had 2 brothers - Luke and Matthew, but I couldn't adopt them because my landlord at the time had a 2 pet limit. Miles' brothers were born with a birth defect - they each have one deformed rear leg...but they run around just fine. I just found out that the couple that adopted Luke and Matthew are going to surrender them back to the shelter because they are having health problems and can't afford the 9 special needs cats they have. I've always regretted not adopting all 3 of them. So looks like 6 years later I am going to get my chance. Not sure yet when I am going to get them, but it should be any day. Here is a pic of Miles with his brothers as kittens 6 years ago. Luke and Matthew are orange kitties with blue eyes. I've always wanted an orange kitty.

Happy Friday everyone! I am ready for the weekend but sad because my time at home with my pets will end Monday morning when I return to work after my week's stay-cation. I didn't accomplish all the things on my list but made some phone calls that were needed and couldn't be done easily from work, like 62 minutes of waiting to speak to someone at Social Security. Praline, I don't think you are the crazy cat lady but you are coming awfully close. At one time I had five cats in a condo because my son kept bringing home cats. We used to joke that we couldn't have new furniture until all the cats died! Now I just have my two Norwegian Forest Cats, brother and sister and three dogs of various sizes (all dachshunds and dachshund mixes) ranging from 8 pounds to about 30 for the old guy. Luckily I don't have a landlord to count the household members. Sandie, I hope things are going well with KeeKee. She sounds delightful. My vet was not familiar with the breed but our groomer is. I took my newly adopted lap dog in to the vet for her booster shots on Wednesday and was looking out the office window and saw this huge yellow striped cat strolling by on the trail around the adjacent mountain park. There was nothing there to give us a perspective on its size so we are all wondering if we saw a juvenile mountain lion out for a midday stroll. It was way too big for a house cat. Beautiful animal. BTW, this town is known as a haven for mountain lions due to the deer and elk population that are always around. If it was a mountain lion, this is my second sighting in seven years here. Anyway, that is my wildlife report for today. Have a great weekend everyone! Hugs and prayers for all of you. Kathleen New Castle, Colorado |

PRALINE Hope the Emer/C helps to speed along to feeling better. Adorable of the 3 brothers!!!!...I am assuming since you have your own condo...the limitations on number of pets will no longer an issue, if and when you add the 2 brothers. You have such a good . My baking is done...the Peach Cake and the Flaxseed Muffins..(yield 30 muffins) We have not taste tested the peach cake yet...but the muffins are , except for the brown sugar in recipe...pretty much "guilt free". We had several very heavy heavy downpours in spurts....but not as bad as Northern Calif. and Eagle Central parts of the State. Hope LALA and other CRUZERS fared okay at their homes. SANDIE too, hope the apartment she is now living had good drainage...and no water coming under the door...in the patio area. Hope LALA, SANDIE and others up that way pop in to let us know. Also Pasadena area had heavy rains too...MINA...hope all is well with you and yours. |

AMETHYST/LINDA..I am so very sorry. I do pray he is not in too much pain and equally that any further treatments do not cause him more pain. I remember vividly the doctors telling my Dear Mother towards the last 6 weeks or so ..when she decided on "no more chemo"...that it is just as valuable to consider the quality of her life remaining time vs to the quantity of her time remaining. Doctors were right and that gave her much peace in her thoughts and decisions . Peace IS a beautiful thing for anyone facing these decisions. I know, witnessed and felt it along with her. Prayers for his wife, you and the entire family.

Well, thank you all for the continued thoughts and prayers for my Mom. Her recovery is painfully slow. I'm on my sister's computer and just read through today's posts. Every day is a long day when watching a loved one go through this. We did get a wallop of rain last night, here in Orange County. I read Karen's post. Linda, hugs for your cousin's DH. It's so hard. Prayer and peace are the key. Praline, yes, you should have taken them years ago, but now they'll be happy with you. They are so cute!!!!! |
