Good Morning Everyone!

Need a report from CA. Saw the tornado (South L.A. neighborhood) someone captured on FB! I would have yelled "Hit the deck!!!" - but they just stood there and recorded the event with stuff flying all around!

Hope all are okay!

This is what I am going to do (hopefully) today!......

Taking a quiet day today, and music jam tonight.

George, hope you are getting better and better!

Laurie, prayers to you and hope the pain is quieting down.

I know I'm missing a lot. Can't keep it all within reach.....brain running out of space! rofl I have not posted a lot lately, but trying to keep up and read what is happening! I think you all are my de-stressor of the day and happy pill. Take care! :D <3

Lala, Had to get a quick photo of this for you! I was buying some furniture and saw this up on the wall. No matter how close I got to it, it still looked 3-D! It was just a pair of paintings - FLAT! The peacock tails looked like they were coming out of the frame! (The ceiling lights didn't help my photo, sorry)

The deer have eaten every apple in our side yard - there must have been close to a thousand apples on the ground and still in the tree!

Our game camera caught the little doe and one of the bucks chowing down. The doe has a whole apple in her mouth that she just grabbed off the tree.

Hi Cat!

Just found the weather map with jet stream! Wow, both west coast and east coast getting it, but not the middle!

Wow! Those deer sure saved you guys a lot of backbreaking work trying to pick up all the fruit!! We had a beautiful big apricot tree. They were delicious, but you couldn't eat them all, and didn't have time or ability to pick them all up off the ground. Guess I needed a few deer!

Yes, Marti, the animals have saved us a ton of work! The deer love apples - so do most of the birds, the squirrels, the foxes, the raccoons, and even the rabbits. Since the apples are bitter, we didn't want them. rofl

In fact, DH and our animals spent most of the summer fighting over our fruit. I think the beasties won. rofl

Marti
we are just above N. Dakota and as you can see we are in the warm area :D

Our high today will be a balmy 1C/33F so even though it is very overcast we are very happy. By Tuesday we'll be heading back down to more normal Dec temps.

Those Santa nails are really great

<::: Warning: Fake order emails deliver virus <:::

There's a new round of virus-laced emails going around. These emails pretend to be from major retail stores confirming your online orders.

This time, the hackers have done a pretty good job making authentic-looking emails. Unlike previous email scams, things like the store logos and the fine print look legitimate. And the scammers know that so many folks are ordering online right now, there's a very good chance that more than a few of you will be fooled.

But don't fall for them!

The emails have a link "for more information about your order." But instead of delivering holiday gifts, these emails deliver a nasty virus that can take over your computer and steal your passwords.

If you are doing any holiday shopping online, this is important information you need right now to separate these dangerous fake emails from the real ones confirming and tracking your actual orders.

Click here to see these fake emails so you don't fall for the hackers' scams :ok:

Good Morning

I haven't been around this week. Took pain meds as my head HURT after the surgical procedure. Yesterday tried stretching it out but by bedtime really hurt so had to take one to sleep. I need to cut back but it still hurts. Whine, whine, whine. rofl

Cat - Love your deer. How nice to have your own personal outdoor garbage disposal. rofl

Penny - You are still mighty cold. We should get up to the low 60's today. Still in the 40's now. :D I love having a fire in the evening.

Marti - Love, love, love <3 <3 <3 the nails. Wish I had seen that yesterday when I got my nails done. I just had a snowflake put on my ring fingers.
The peacocks are awesome. :)

Today I get to wash my hair. :**: Going three days is terrible.

Katie right now it feels like Spring to us with all the snirt (snow plus dirt) and piles of brown slush spraying all over the cars making them look like they've gone through muddy fields :o

So sorry your head is still so sore...I guess he went rather deep to make sure he got all the C out of that area :Hugs: for quick healing.

Good morning, Peeps!

Yes, we had some fierce wind and rain the night before last, fortunately in the wee hours of the night when we didn't have to be outside. The rain was horizontal, hitting the sliding door in my kitchen with some force, even though those doors are located next to a patio that has a lattice roof and the house has a wide overhand on all sides.

The roof leaked but DH (from afar --he's till in Maryland) thinks it was caused by the rain being blown up under the eaves and not by a bad roof. He says to wait until a regular vertical rain and if it leaks again, call a roofer. Fortunately, the leak is in the hall and not over any furniture.

I loved the Santa nails, but I know if I ever had anything like that done, Santa would not look very good very soon after.

Those tundra swans are so beautiful.

My daughter Ginn and I have been involved in a whirlwind of doctors' visits with some scary diagnoses. Her internist says she has IBS (which we suspected anyway), and did a blood test to check for chronic fatigue syndrome and Epstein-Barr syndrome.

After that, we saw the orthopedist, who wants to do a cortisone injection because of the constant pain in her neck and shoulder. That was supposed to be scheduled on Tuesday, but the scheduling woman called and said they are completely booked up. She won't be able to tell us until Monday if they can fit it in at noon. Since Ginn is scheduled to go back to Maryland on Wednesday, this has us on pins and needles. If we have to change her schedule, it is going to cost alot of $$ because of it being so close to Christmas.

And, perhaps scariest of all, the orthopedist is pretty sure she suffers from ligamentous laxity, or loose tendons. We looked it up on Wickipedia and at the Mayo clinic site, and it can be pretty serious. To find out for sure, she needs to see a rheumatologist.

It's alot to deal with for a 25-year-old. (or for anyone, for that matter.)

Then, on top of all that, the great-grandmother of her best friend, whose family she kind of adopted as extra grandparents since hers were not alive, died at age 97. Ginn's friend has been staying with us for the last couple of days. I've been doing more cooking than I have been able to do in years. Thank goodness I am getting some of my strength back. It has been taking long enough.

Enough of my sad story. Have a good day, folks!
