Hi all,

Woke up late this morning to about an inch of snow covering everything. My grandson was having a sledding party for his birthday celebration this afternoon so glad the snow the arrived. They are at a higher elevation than I am and probably got much more snow than I did. I don't do well with the cold so managed to miss that part of the celebration. We'll have family night out for pizza tomorrow evening. That has been our tradition for the past five years. This is number six.

Football today was good for Colorado since Denver Broncos won. Called my best friend in California before the game as she is a Chargers fan. We laughed that by talking before the game at least we still liked each other.

I'm usually a bit of news junkie but took the week off while on vacation. That is scary news about a tornado in Southern California. Got some of my Christmas shopping done yesterday. Was out and about without a jacket until late afternoon. Today, one of the dogs chewed into the box for the DVD/Blue ray player for my son's family. So guess they will have a gift with missing corners.

Back to work tomorrow. Praline, for your information, I also work for a Community Development Department as their administrative assistant. I love the variety of my job and the planners and building inspectors I work with.

Good health and good wishes to all of you through this busy Christmas and holiday season. Watch out for that flu bug since our shots might have missed the right combination this year.

catching up a bit

Kathleen - wow now that's a wildlife report :)
sorry that your staycation is drawing to a close ..... hope it was restful

Linda - sorry to hear that the news was as expected - unfortunately that's usually the case :( hope the meds do the job and improve the situation - hugs to one and all

my dad decided no treatments because he felt it wouldn't provide him a quality of life worth the side affects - I wish it could have been different but he was at peace with it

marsha extra special thoughts to you and yours .....

laurie hope you are gaining strength and up and about more now :)

saw the horrible CA weather and slides and the tornado :( one extreme to the other - oh my
hope everyone was safe and AOK ....

Cat I'm rolling just thinking about DH and the critters "fighting" over the fruit! glad they helped you clean up though :)

Oh Katie - sorry to hear you are having such pains - I too hate taking the meds but I guess in the beginning you just have to do it and then work on cutting back - enjoy your hair wash ;)

And Mina - sorry to hear about DD's situation - hopefully the tests will confirm it's nothing serious and a med or 2 and rest and maybe PT will sort it out - one can only hope! you take it easy too

praline your hair looks too cute

:Hugs: :Hugs: :Hugs: :Hugs: :Hugs: :Hugs: :Hugs: :Hugs: :Hugs: :Hugs:

I still need to read thru today's posts

ES hiked yesterday - brrr in the cold but sunny - they did good!
I stayed home to tackle some chores we've (I've been ignoring)

when he got home - we had a quick bite to eat and then headed to the mall :(
only another week and shopping has to be done - and I've done none :o

we tackled some - have ideas for a few others - will do some online
the stuff to OH has to be shipped so have to get on that
I'm so bad this year

don't even mention cards rofl

ES finally realized a tree wasn't going to happen either - we've just been too busy so he remembered we had bought a little 4' tree a couple years ago so he got it out and now it's nicely tucked into our front window - we put out our little plastic lit snowman and I actually put a few lights around the window and door and wreath (yes finally hung up the wreath) so now we're good as we're gonna be

today he went in to work to try to catch up so I did more stuff at home today - paperwork - laundry - stuff! whew
now I need a vacation :P

hope everyone had a good day and that everyone is feeling better

Carole - so glad to hear you've arrived in the land of sun!
everyone in CA good? safe?

A QUICK GOOD EVENING TO ALL :}^

Penny - Cute animal graphic / Hope dinner with your DM and concert went well /
I love my Norfolk Pine / the window in the dining area is large and we are not
supposed to use a sheet for a covering as some did because of low funds.
So I used a sheet to sew into two curtain panels and used fabric paint /

Carole - How special to see and osprey and a wood stork /

CatM - Bet the snow covering was beautiful /Enjoy your chile con carne :Yum:

Marshaz - Continued prayers for your DM :X:

Jillers - Naughty kitty /

Chiquita - I love my Norfolk pine / It has thrived with good dirt and a little
plant food now and then / It's in a pot I put out in the spring and take it in
the fall / Used to put in on a 30 in stand /Then a foot stand this year put in
a larger pot it sits on the floor / Makes it a bit lower than the top of the
window / Have fun decorating /

SCLady - Hope all leaks solved /good your DH could take care of :><:
Pretty scene / Cute photos of Prince George /

EagleWatcher - It's so great you an have time with grand sons :)^

First View - How great to have a pizza family night / Family is so special /
Yes for the Broncos /

Deb - Glad you had time for some decorations / a touch of Christmas lifts
your spirits /

EmeraldSkye - I believe in using natural medications / I just read a piece
on the uses of honey and cinnamon / It said Japan had done some
studies and found that 1 Tablespoon of honey and one teaspoon of cinnamon
3 times a day helps bone cancer / Just throwing that out / Honey is one
of the most perfect foods /

Busy day / When I came out of church there were thousands of snow
geese flying overhead / They landed in a near by field / They haven't
been to MCR yet / Then on my way up halfWayHouse Rd there was
a great blue heron hanging out in a stream along side the road /
Got to MCR and my eagle was perched there and flew off / So blustery
and windy there / A couple other cars pulled in and left right away so
I was the only one there / then left and went to the reception for our
ARTS winter members show / Got home about 4:30PM / Had a yummy
bacon/egg sandwich & v/8 juice efor dinner / then a group from my church
came and sang Christmas carols for me and a couple neighbors /
My decor is lights on my Norfolk Pine and in the window, 3 bouquets of
white pointsettias / My lighted Ceramic Christmas house /a manger
scene / a Christmas basket and a little varigated pointsettia that I
received at our ARTs Christmas dinner on Thursday / I usually buy a
small white pointsettia for my self but the store didn't have any
this year /

Carol I hear you, but I can't stand the taste of honey! Probably the only person in the world that doesn't like honey. Nor coffee. :D

Photos of the Pacific Campaign and a link to the Normandy Invasion to re-take Europe. Some Iconic you’ve probably seen before, but many others that get you right into the action.
Keep these photos to show your children and grandchildren that may be complaining about ‘having a bad day”………
Imagine being in the landing boats about to assault the beach and enemy machine gun crossfires, saying your last prayers and good-byes to your loved ones…. Then giving it your very BEST!
