PRALINE...How very exciting your "seed of an idea" is!! Seems if you would get that job in Fairbanks..and you find GO TENANTS for your townhouse..it would an interesting and I am sure a very happy event in your life...that is if you can deal with the lifestyle changes living in Alaska. It is not for the feint of heart...so if you are easily adaptable to big change it worth thinking and pursuing. I am sure your sister and Miss Lily would be happy too. In the meantime....it is a big decision. I am so glad you have your house back to yourself and this time for good. CAT...Just makes no sense to me that the City has you , a terrific asset to the committee and with more knowledge than most anyone on that committee, and you are not heeded. Bureaucrats drive me NUTS! Sometimes I wonder if they are just using you. MARSHA...Very glad your SIL is now agreeable to dialysis...one less thing for you and DH to worry about for now. Ihope she sticks with her decision. We have had several lite rain showers move through today here....more forecasted on the way overnight. I had the weather channel on to see what is going on in the rest of the country...I rarely can watch very long...as the weather talking heads report like they are talking to elementary school children and their banter is inane! Jim Cantore is the exception. Yes, I know , this is why we have and on and off switch.

Just reading your posts. I am wishing those of you celebrating Hanukkah a happy season. Praline, what a brave idea. That is how I got to Colorado after living in California all my life. I did not want to be an absentee Grandma. I spent a lot of time researching the Colorado Western Slope area and reading the local newspaper to learn about the communities here. I would not trade where I live for anywhere else! You at least are starting with a job application. I moved here with a new mortgage and had to find a job to support my home. Yesterday was a good eagle day. Saw four on my way to work and one on the way home because I went home before dark. This morning there was only one of the visiting eagles near the river. Oh, Karen and Catm, that's just for today. Tomorrow, is a different story with more complaining in store. I really don't need to give a daily report, as the drama will continue. My little Happy Hanukkah in blue wishes, will have to be. My computer is so slow with PB. |

Wow! Looks what's happening in my old stomping grounds......!!! The National Weather Service issued a Flash Flood Warning at 4:53 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2014, extending until 6:45 p.m., for the south-central region of Los Angeles County, including but not limited to Torrance and West Carson. The NWS requested activation of the Emergency Alert System to spread news of the Flash Flood Warning. At 4:42 p.m., local law enforcement officials reported flash flooding with dangerous roadway flooding from storms over the area. Estimated rainfall rates have been up to 2 inches per hour in the area. At 5:10 p.m., Doppler radar was tracking a strong and nearly stationary storm over Torrance and West Carson. Torrance police say major flooding has been reported in some areas on the eastern portion of the city. Flooding has been reported from 190th and Carson streets between Western and Van Ness avenues. Roads with major flooding include Del Amo Boulevard to Sepulveda Boulevard east of Hawthorne Boulevard, according to police. Officials urged motorists not to drive their vehicles into areas where water covers the roadway because it might be too deep to cross safely. To escape rising water, move to higher ground. |

CAROL...Love seeing you Ladies in Red & Purple...good time had by all. I think I see a portion of you in the back. MARTI...Luckily we did not get that deluge that went thru L.A. area earlier this evening....THAT IS TOO MUCH RAIN. We are about 50 miles or so South of L.A...we had gentle sprinkles only off and on today. KATHLEEN..Eagles seen to and from work...a very good day indeed! JESSICA AND BABYare now doing much better as the day has progressed. They both will stay in hosptial 2 more days. Daddy staying in room too...sleeping on the couch.....already changing diapers. Little Kayli Christineweighed in at 7 and half pounds...even though 3 weeks early. My neighbor and her DH got to visit them this afternoon....happy and relieved Great Grandparents.

Carol the variety of red hats on the ladies in your group is quite fun to see. I hope you can take a close up of the butterfly pin and ostrich feather on yours so we can see it ![]() There are ways to keep your computer cooler when using it. i use 4 suction cups (Cool Feet) to keep the base elevated. There are many other types of gadgets that do the same thing. You just need to raise it up a little to allow for better air circulation underneath it ![]() Lala the Menorah with the beeswax candles against the snow backdrop is just beautiful Marti I hope the flash flooding doesn't cause too much more damage That is coming down too heavily for it to have a chance of being absorbed. there will be no mud slides because of it ![]() Karen I'm sure Jessica will recover from her labour soon. She has a little one to take her mind off all that now Jessica and Jacob ![]() |
