To everyone who is celebrating it. We woke up to -20C/-4F this morning and it hasn't changed Thank goodness there is virtually no wind so it doesn't feel too bad out there. We should start warming up to -9C/16F by this afternoon ![]() |

PENNY....Yes, Jessica has lots to keep her busy in adoring and wonderment with her new baby girl. Her post-delivery health issues for some physical problems...but it appears Doctors have a handle on the situation and Jessica doing better. Sunny and Beautiful Floating clouds here today. We had some heavy rains overnight....but the leak at the French Door was managable...no big winds driving these rains. Speaking of weather, things are looking great for our Daughter Michelle and GS John's visit. They leave Austin 7:00am Flight on Monday in good weather forecast , and our weather promises to be sunny and low 70's at least thru Christmas Day. Almost have everytihing ready for their arrival. GS John had 4 wisdom teeth extracted last Thursday. Not Fun! He is doing better now, Michelle said his face still a little swollen and he is grumpy and he has finals this week. By Friday night, when finals are over and school is OUT for Christmas Break...I am sure his grumpy-ness will disappear in a flash.

Boy, did we get a wallop of rain last night. Sarah and I, are trying to check for snow, in the local mountains, but it looks like there's none. The weather report said it was snowing last night. We'll see. |

We had pretty fierce rains in the night last night. Right around the time they started, I was in the kitchen beginning to make a late dinner. I had been at choir rehearsal until nearly 9 and now everybody was hungry. Forgetting that I was running the electric heater (It's mighty cold in my house!), I put some broccoli in the microwave. Yep, you guessed it, I'll bet. It blew the circuit breaker. The breaker box is outside on the side of the house. I unplugged the heater and then both Ginn's friend and Ginn went out there and tried to find the guilty breaker. It was dark and raining hard, and even with a flashlight, they couldn't find it. The breaker didn't flip all the way over to OFF and the only way to figure out which one it was, was to try each one until one felt funny. So, with no microwave or light in the kitchen or stove available, I went out in the pouring rain to McDonald's and brought us home some fast food. This morning, Ginn went out and figured out which switch was squishy and fixed it. Needless to say, the heater is remaining off. I hate things like this! Ginn is having a really bad reaction to the epidural shot she had yesterday. Soreness at the needle site, extreme cramping in her neck, and a resulting killer migraine. It makes me feel so bad that she has so much trouble with such things. When I have had them, I have had no reaction afterwards at all. We now think that it is due to the Ehlers-Danlos syndrome with which she has been tentatively diagnosed. A firm diagnosis requires some awful tests. I'm off to a class with my Christmas Trilogy poems. |
