I guess everyone must be wrapping packing and sealing and standing in line to get everything done. No lines for me this year. Everything I needed to send off is already gone! My trainer brought me a new litter box. It's one of those clear plastic Christmas wrapping paper boxes. Akeelah loves it and uses it much more often than the other one. She really isn't quite sure about the new crate tho. She still whines when I put her in it. I hope she will get used to it. My neighbor I don't think likes the fact that I don't let her go in the back yard much. And she says I'm the one getting trained not Akeelah. I'm just trying to give her the best I can. I feel sad she's upset with me. I don't want my little girl in the mud or to get picked up by a hawk or eat something she shouldn't. I think she might be a little jealous too. I feel like I should be following the advice of her trainer and not my neighbor but I don't want to hurt her feelings. She can't take rejection very well.

Sandie when you put her in her crate be sure to put a toy, something to chew on, treats, maybe a Kong filled with treats for the best of all worlds. Heck, put two kongs in there! You can put treats in one, maybe smear some peanut butter in the other. She will start to enjoy her crate. Or at least won't be bored in there. Make sure she has water in there. Either a small bucket that hangs to the side that she can't spill or one of those that she licks for water, like you get for hamsters but are made for dogs. |

I was lucky to work here for five years.. fresh out of Ventura College... Worked with the District Attorney's Office for 3 years and with the Bureau of Investigation for two,, this was indeed my view when going to lunch and out the main doors... |

Well Laurie good ideas. Mostly she just sleeps after she settles down that is. I like the water idea!!!! The breeder says absolutely no people food.....but i'm rethinking that. She also said no treats but I've changed my mind about that completely. She responds really good with those. Her new litter tray is really working well. She is going pee pee in there now without even having to ask her to go there.
