Hi Barb :}^

The nest is in North East Florida and the eagles are Romeo and Juliet

The nest I visit is in Fort Myers, Florida and they have 2 :egg: :egg: which are on day 35 and day 32 for hatching. The eagles are Ozzie and Harriet.

Carole, thanks so much. <3 :Hugs: I figured these were FL birds, but had trouble trying to figure out exactly where.
I will visit both nests ASAP! <3 :egg:

My parents were in Ft. Myers when my dad was in the Air Force in WWII. Wonder if they saw any eagles.

Merry Christmas everyone. We aren't doing anything Christmas-like here. Later a neighbor (who happens to be Jewish) is going to bring us a Christmas dinner. She's cooking a spiral ham, sweet potatoes, and I don't know that else. I don't need much since I don't eat much. Tomorrow David's family is going to come visit for an hour. They will also bring some Christmas food and my favorite Christmas dessert: Cherry Cheese Pie. It's perfect for Christmas because it's red and white, and is so easy to make. Tons of calories but I don't need to worry about that now.

Carole was kind enough to provide the link, so I got busy capping the hatching at the NE Florida nest.
9:55-57am - Romeo and Juliet are busy hatching chicks.
The egg is moving and cracking and it won't be long until a Christmas eaglet comes

NE FL egg is progressing fast. You could see much cracking, and just when you could see the tiny beak opening the shell more, eagle settled down over it.

Eaglet in FL fights its way out. Beak and head break free--resting.

Ed.: as of 11:50, shell seems to be in two pieces, but can't tell if eaglet is an escapee.
Parent on top now.

Second FL cam reveals quickly drying fluffball trying to get rid of its egg cap (butt).
Welcome, Christmas eaglet! :tree:

Ed. 11:57 -All out--rolled in a ball underneath the parent. Mission accomplished!
