Oh gosh Mina I had no idea you had problems with driving at night. I would have insisted you stay with me. Heck I would have put you in my bed!!! Next time we will do that. Sorry about the washing machine  who knows what happens with these machines. I have spent all day trying to figure out what the heck is wrong with my Kitchen Aid stand mixer. It worked ok the other day with the cheese cake :<:: I went on line and on the phone etc etc :hair: and nothing worked. I have no earthly idea what I'm going to do with this pumpkin batter I have half made. Sheesh.

Laurie I'll look and see if I can find that book. You should write a book with all the great knowledgeable things you are full of!!!! If you don't want to write it you could speak it into a cassette.

Carole look at those pond critters. What lovely colors. I'm a little jealous

rofl

Karen those muscles look ok but I use them to fish with :8O: I like the look on your GS John's face while he is working with the pasta. What concentration. Maybe he will follow in GF"s footsteps!!!

Katie :flk: too much in Colorado for me!!!!

How did people in the dark (no electricity) ages make dough for pumpkin bread? They must have had really strong arms. I remember seeing my Auntie using a huge spoon inside a bowl of batter and her beating the dickens out of the batter. Guess I'm just not that strong!!!

Akeelah is now again barking at herself in the sliding glass door....silly girl!!!

Kathleen, I'm still hoping to make it to Colorado, someday. :X:

Carole, lovely pond critters. <3

The kids gave hubby a sound box for our newish TV. He's watching Pacific, and I can't hear anything else in this house.

Finally made it here with time to post. Today was just another one of those semi weird ones :P Everything was going smoothly until I had a call from one of the Home Care workers at lunch time today telling me that my Mother did not get her lunch medication because the Care Worker who was scheduled for her did not show up to work today. Mom had been escorted to her table but neither she nor the other worker could give Mom her medication (1 pain pill) because it wasn’t on their task sheets :hair:

You can imagine how very frustrating it was to hear this, especially in light of the fact that my Mom's Home Care Co-ordinator had told me, when we had a meeting at my Mom’s apartment on Dec 17th, that when there is a problem with a worker not making it in, another one who was there would make sure that the meds would be given, even if they may be not at the usual time. This has obviously not been communicated to the workers.

After waiting for over 30 minutes to talk to the After Hours operator, because it is a weekend, I was told, once again, that they could not do anything about it, except to document what happened. Needless to say, I find that answer totally unacceptable, but that is the answer I have gotten every time I call them....so why even bother?

I could not even be assured that my Mom was going to get her supper and bed time pills except that the schedule looked ok, but she couldn’t guarantee it

My DH rushed over there to make sure Mom got her pain pill with her lunch today, but we are going to be away for 10 days and now I am extremely worried that my Mom may not get her meds as required every day. I fired off an EM to both the co-ordinator and her boss and guess what...they are both away...AGAIN...until Jan 6th :dvl: These people are always away...Gov't jobs give lots of perks !!!

So now I am :pacing: until I get some knd of assurances that this will never happen again.

Later on it was the trip to get the extra medical insurance coverage, filling out the questionnaire and paying the $$$. Honestly, I am really sick of all the rigamarole they put people through and the real hassle you go through if something actually does happen and you need to use the insurance you have overpaid for. Grrrrr. It's all so annoying...like the fact that now, there is not even one free bag with your plane ticket. Every bag has to be paid for and then of course, I lose my carry on because Siobhan counts as mine even though I have to pay for her carrier each way too

Sorry for venting and I know this sounds so petty compared to real problems other people are dealing with :BX:

Well gosh Penny that all seems like a real problem to me!!! My Aunt Penny got insurance for her trip and she fell and broke her ribs. So I hope she doesn't have to go thru a lot to change her plans!! And as for your MOM how in the world can you guarantee that she will be taken care of???? Is there insurance to take care of that???? :hair: :hair:

Carol rofl I had to laugh cause I forgot to take a picture of Mina being here. I took one but it didn't turn out. Then hurting too much to remember much of anything!!! Glad you were able to drive to church and enjoy the fellowship etc. How nice the family got you a nice gift. :)^

Karen your GS is learning at the hands of the master :)^ The mussels look absolutely delicious and the fresh pasta too :Yum: :Yum:

Carole I watched the cam this morning for just a short while and saw the oldest :^: peeping away at the parent who wandered around looking for nestovers and ended up licking out both parts of the freshly hatched shell :P I think that was Ozzie because of the OCD stick and straw rearranging before going back to brood the still peeping chicklet :D

Beautiful Pond Critters...do you think they are the same ones? The Roseate Spoonbill really stands out in that crowd :D How is your thumb today?

Sandie take a look at this puppy barking at its own image in the mirror rofl rofl Is it the same breed?

Carol it sounds as though your Christmas eve service was lovely and you got to see your DD and GS for breakfast after all :)^ So glad you got some nice presents....you traded hair color with Hope I guess because now you are the blond one  An apple carved like a turkey...what a cute idea !
