Penny, I was just thinking, a lot of folks are being neglected. I bet it would make an interesting newspaper article! A lot of families who weren't aware of the neglect would probably light up the phone lines! |

Marti I so agree with you. I'm sure not only Pennys mom was effected by this negligence. And of course no one answers the phone any more. Contacting the authorities and giving them a little while to respond is certainly long enough before contacting the press. Of course everyone is afraid to "rock the boat" for fear their loved ones will get the proverbial "boot" for being a whistle blower. But this kind of stuff just can't continue. If I were in there I would have been creating a huge stir but the people like Pennys mom can't fend for themselves. Penny You go girl!!! It is really going to be freezing both in Vegas and I guess at your place also. Is this the "tech" convention that you always attend? Clue us in on all the new stuff!!Cat so sorry to hear about Bobby. I know how much you both missed each other when she left. I think she had a really good life with you in it and the family she moved closer to. RIP Bobby. |

Jill, I laughed out loud when I saw your "cat" picture... Marsha, I wouldn't worry about the BIG graphic because once we change them, they're gone from everywhere anyway

MARSHA...You should be okay driving tomorrow...the rain is not forecasted to begin here until 1:00 pm or so. Your DM will be happy you can spend several days visiting her as she continues her re-hab inch by inch. PENNY...Sure hope you hear from the right people today...it is hard enough getting straight answers especially during the long holiday weeks in Dec. Grocery shopped this morning to replenish to get us thru New Years Day....beautiful prime rib roast in frig for New Year's Eve dinner. We are un-trimming the tree and putting away all the Christmas decorations today....should have everything back in its storage places by end of the day tomorrow....to start the New Year all fresh. |

OK Mina this is ALL YOUR FAULT!!! You left this Peppermint Bark and I have been eating it like no tomorrow. And I wanted you to know how much Akeelah loves the "fringe" toy you gave her. It's very light weight so she can carry it with her everywhere!!! Karen I don't have much to put away so I'ts going to be pretty easy for me! But I don't want to put it away until after the first of the year. And I think i'm going to leave the lights up on my gazebo thing in the back yard. I took one of those pee pee pads in the car with me today. And it worked!!! She has peeped on both Dee and Wendy in the past so I didn't want a repeat of that. She is really doing good in this department. It is cold n the shade today but in the sun it feels warm.

Thanks everyone for all the kind words about Bobbie. I will miss her a lot. I need to get ready for tomorrow then have dinner. I hate the change once again in my dialysis schedule. I hope everyone has a great evening. |

OMG I had to laugh. There was this beautiful orange cat with no tail. I was watching it wondering how long it would take Akeelah to notice it. I stood by the door for a few min's and when she saw it she went beserk. The kitty left and then came back. Brave kitty!!!

I don't think I remember telling you about the statue of Liberty that I found in Malibu when I drove down Highway 1 otherwise known as Pacific Coast Highway. I caught site of the statue a long time ago and always wondered about it. Who lived there???? I thought probably a Hollywood producer or something connected to Hollywood at least. The last time I went down there there was someone sitting in the little hut that I guess checks people that come and go. So I asked who the heck lived there. I found out the place is Passages of Malibu which is a drug and alcohol rehab place. Very exclusive and probably costs a fortune to attend. But that is where the statue resides. I still don't know why it is there but at least I know a little more about the place where it is placed. |

Thanks so much for all the well-wishes for my mammogram retake. It came out clear! The radiologist said the nodule that they thought they saw before, was gone. The technician explained that at different times, the breast tissue can lay in different angles so something might appear, that wasn't there before. Thanks also for the well-wishes for my Mom. Her prognosis isn't so optimistic, but we've come to accept that since it will be 1 month ago, this happened. She's not progressing in rehab. and we will have to try to find another and hopefully, final place for her. You guys are all so caring and loving.
