It's hard waiting. Hubby said he'd be here around 11:00 am, so we can go see my Mom. I hope he remembered to record the parade before he left this am? Tomorrow, I'm going to check out 2 residential homes, then I may go back to san Diego 1 day early. As wonderful as my sister and BIL have been, it's not the same as being home. And I've had some really good visits with Mom, although her recovery has really slowed down. |

 I love your cat hat Jill. I have a similar photo on my bulletin board of a little gray and white kitten on top of the head of a grizzled German shepherd with its little arms hanging down in front of the dog's ears. Always gives me a smile. It got so cold here last night my exposed bird bath had a thick layer of ice on top, even at 9:30 am with the sun shining on it (I slept in LOL). Was able to break it up for the birdies. Now I'm out to dig holes in the ground for new plants I bought. Here, with gophers, we have to line the holes with aviary wire before putting in the plants. Best wishes to all for a good 2015. |

Wow amazing Michigan State won. Unbelievable! Now the Rose Bowl!! The stadium is PACKED. Would love to be there. I'm cooking split pea soup. It really smells great. Deb congrats on the win in the parade!!! ![]() Lala that's what those teeny birdies are out there in the back yard and along the side of the house. I'm a little upset that they are going to cut down that huge bush/tree where a lot of them live. They are planning on putting up a fence. Marsha I'm so sorry you have to decide on such things for your mom. I hope you get to go see her soon and that she is in better hands than Penny's mom! Kathie I have given Akeelah some canned pineapple about one teaspoon full with the evening and first meal today. She hasn't seemed to even try. Some sites say it needs to be fresh and others don't mention it at all. I'm glad she is using the litter box cause I can see/catch her before she has a chance to do anything. Hope I caught it early enough. Carole I'm only doing what her trainer has told me to do. And as far as giving her back and getting a darker or black dog......REALLY? Have you ever done something like that just because of a few little annoying things? I certainly couldn't. I knew that the moment I saw her in her crate off the airplane. She loves me and I love her as much or more  It is so pretty and clear out there but just came in from the store and the air is extremely cold. HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE. I can only hope this year will be much more healthy for ALL of us. |

Oh Mina how sweet. What kind of bird is that? It looks like a dove or pigeon. Has beautiful colors. But how protective is that sweet little wing over her babies. It's the epitome of protectiveness and warmth. Very adorable!! |

Thanks Sandie. We're back from being out all day. We had some sweet wonderful time with my Mom. She wanted to hold my hand. It's so cold and dark already, that I sent hubby on his way back to San Diego. I asked him to text me when he gets home. Oh Mina, that is a lovely bird and beautiful thoughts. |

It's a bit early, but I'm ready for bed. I started packing up my things, to save time in the morning. Good night Deb, looks like you're ready for bed, too. Carol, our East Coast night owl, is probably still going strong.
