HI Jill, :}^

Thank you for the puzzle. I am relieved to say that I was able to solve it fairly quickly.

Only saw one eagle on my way in to work this morning. I guess they don't like the cold either. We have a lot of ice on the river right now so fishing is harder.

I did watch the parade yesterday and we found coverage without commercials on House & Garden. Wasn't quite like KTLA, channel 5, but they were close. My daughter-in-law invited me to watch the parade and have brunch with her. My grandson had a friend over so there was lots of kid noise too. She cooked French toast and some yummy elk sausage from one of their neighbors. I brought orange juice and champagne for Mimosas. Not a bad way to start out the new year. We had a quiet day. Just stayed in and tried to stay warm.

Today I am back at work trying to attack some of those projects that are needed to start a new year.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL OF YOU!

Carole...Thank you for posting the pictures from the Florida nests...I love to watch those little ones grow.

Yesterday afternoon I took a moment to watch the Rose Parade. My two favorites are the Budweiser/Clydesdale entry and the Scripps Miramar Saddlebred entry. E.W. Scripps (an American newspaper publisher), who lived in Illinois and had some health issues, thought he'd come out to San Diego to visit his half-sister, Ellen. He discovered that he was feeling better here so, eventually, bought this vast parcel of land. Part of the ranch was sold many years ago but the Scripps family kept the working part of the ranch which is within walking distance of my home and I have been lucky enough to self tour the stables, etc and have a nice buffet meal on the grounds. Their saddlebred horses are well known...even off to England to perform for Queen Elizabeth a few years ago. Each year their entry in the RP has a different theme with elaborate costumes...some years they bring out the old carriages, stagecoaches or even the calliopy!!!

Good Morning

The boys left yesterday afternoon so all is quiet around here. Have to finish putting away the last of the Christmas things. Have too much. Martin was a fantastic help with the Dicken's Village and the North Pole Village. All that is stored back in the shed. :)^ Today it's the nutcrackers and some misc things on shelves. House is looking bare. :(

Adam gave me his cold so my nose is a faucet today. :'( Have to be careful as we leave next Friday. I haven't said yet where we are going but I guess now is the time as it's so close.

We are going to ANTARCTICA!!!! We are so excited and can hardly wait. This is thanks to my wonderful dad who would have so enjoyed hearing about the trip. I know he'll be watching over us. <3

Have a wonderful day. Still very chilly here. Third night below freezing for us. Should warm up next week.

Hi Peeps - I have been out of commission since yesterday. I fell down 5 stairs in the house and hurt my back. I have a beautiful 6" carpet burn on my spine with some bruising. Alan is ready to put me into a balloon for safety reasons rofl Right now it isn't too bad, used a heating pad which helped but golf is out of the question for the next few days which really makes me mad. As with all stupid accidents, it will get better but I have to be patient, which I'm not accustomed to. Will check in here tomorrow.

CAROLE...Bummmer!!!! Thank goodness you did not break anything.....the long brushburn must be very uncomfortable. :Hugs:

<::: The other day, I read about our local whale watching boat with Capt. Dave being in the right place at the right time. A Calif. Grey Whale Mother had just birthed, maybe only hours before, and he got this beautiful footage with his drone camera.

Karen - I love the Capt Dave videos you post. <3 <3 Such a treat.

Carole - Oh, dear. What a shame you took a tumble. :Hugs: Take it easy and rest your poor sore body and you'll be back on the golf course in no time. :X:

I can hardly wait to walk on the Salisbury Plain on South Georgia Island with 200,000 king penguins. :**: It's been a dream every since we saw friend's video about 10 years ago. Of course the smell is a bit ripe but you have to have a little bad with all that good. rofl

Looks like everybody's busy doing something else today.

Carole, :Hugs: thinking of you and I hope you heal quickly and don't have too much pain. I've had a few falls, one down 13 steps 12 years ago. I still remember the aches and bruises. Sending lovies.

I recently got new glasses and they were worse than not wearing any glasses, so today I went back to see what was wrong. It seems that my cataracts have gotten bad enough that they are unable to correct the vision problem with glasses. I need to get cataract surgery. I wish they had told me that when I was there before, since I spent $450 on two pairs of glasses that I now might as well throw in the trash.

Laurie and David, Thinking of you and :Hugs: hugs and lovies to you.

Katie, I hope you and Wes have a wonderful trip to Antarctica. One of my friends went there and loved the trip. Take lots of pictures of penguins and snow and all that stuff. I hope the weather is good.
