Good Morning, all Hi, Deb. DH has a new playmate. The man lives two doors south of us. I heard a knock on the back door as I was napping after dialysis yesterday and when I looked outside, there was our neighbor. He wanted to know if Vic could come out and play. Reminded me of the kids thirty years ago!! It turns out both he and DH share a love of RC helicopters and drones. They both have the same model of drone and they spent yesterday flying them. They have another "play date" this morning.

Hi everyone. Thanks for your get well wishes Even though I feel like I have been hit by a bus, I know that each day it will get better. I still take Maya for her walks and it's good to be able to go outside, especially since it's 80+F. |

We older folks need an explanation for EVERYTHING! And this question is one from the top of the priority list. The Explanation: Brains of older people are slow because they know so much. People do not decline mentally with age, it just takes them longer to recall facts because they have more information in their brains, scientists believe. Much like a computer struggles as the hard drive gets filled up, so do humans take longer to access information, it has been suggested. Researchers say this slowing down it is not the same as cognitive decline. One new and controversial idea holds that cognitive decline is in fact a myth. A team in Germany led by Michael Ramscar, argues that older people perform less well in intelligence and memory tests because they know so much more than younger subjects and not because their brains are deteriorating. Simply put, their larger stores of accumulated knowledge slow their performance. Their brains take longer to retrieve the answers from their richer memory stores. So, keep this in mind the next time some young whippersnapper comes back at you with an answer much too quickly; he/she just doesn’t have much else up there to slow their brain down. Also, older people often go to another room to get something and when they get there, they stand there wondering what they came for. It is NOT a memory problem; it is nature's way of making older people get more exercise. SO THERE!! |

Good Morning Chat Friends from cold San Diego! I got back last night. Hi Deb, Jill, catM, Carole, and Chiquita! Did somebody say Carole fell? Egads... hugs for you, Carole. My computer downstairs is still slow, otherwise, there'd be some hugging graphics, too. catM, how nice, Vic has a friend to play with. Sarah left early to head up to Julian, to the snow. |

HAPPY FIRST ....OF 2015 CAT...The fellas "play date"....love it! I often think the same thing when DH and his Crew go racing....and when he is crewing on other sailboats. CAROLE...I am sure you have aches and pains in lots of places...you know the word...patience....good you can get outdoors to walk Princess Maya. Your "Good Morning" graphic is SO CUTE!!!! MARSHA...Oh I envy your daughter...First because Julian is one of my most favorite places...and snow up there will be lovely! I just checked Julian's webpage... "First snow storm of the season! Approximately six inches in the town site. Highways 78 and 79 are now open, watch for patches of ice." DH is racing today....I am doing Saturday chores....ready for the NFL Wildcard games to start in a few hours.

Hi Everyone, Know it's been awhile. Although I don't always post, I do check up here and there. Hope everyone is well in 2015 and this year brings everyone love, happiness and prosperity. Kyla and I have 2 cats again. Still have Fiona (lady of the manor) and now Charley (also a girl). Kyla is going to school at Irvine Valley College and in the choir there. She is enjoying all her classes and is going for a Bachelors Hospitality Degree. Looking forward to the eaglets this year. Last year I had really gotten into the panda bears at Atlanta Zoo and Smithsonian (Miss Bao Bao -- affectionately, the "ow" princess). Have a great holiday season. Vickih

Oh Vicky, Hi Karen, Sarah is back, because she left so early. They left for Julian before 8:00 am. She said the snow was lovely and there were lots of people. I think driving back and forth and having Pauline and my Mom seriously ill at the same time, is taking a toll. I'm feeling really tired. I just got back from feeding the ferals, visiting Pauline, and going grocery shopping. Tomorrow, after church, I don't plan on doing much. |

Carole, so sorry to hear about your fall. Take it easy for a while! Katie, I know you will have a great experience. My sister went to Antarctica a couple of years ago and she loved it. She had some wonderful shots of the penguins. Marsha, take it easy!
