Me too, so I got up and have been working on the illustrations for the book. I have an appointment with the ophthalmologist today and they will dilate my eyes, so I have to get someone else to drive me there. I hate being dependent. Fortunately, we have no ice or freezing rain here. However, the rest of my family is in Maryland and having to deal with alot of ice. I hope they don't have to drive anywhere today. Stay dry and warm and safe, those of you who have to deal with this stuff.

Lala, I played with this in PS, but with all the bells and whistles, it's the best I could do...... OUCHIE! ![]() Mina, I initially had someone years ago come with me when my eyes were dialated, but realized I might as well be driving, as there was no problem. I have driven myself ever since. They say that everyone reacts differently. When they dialate your eyes, can you see the difference. If not, maybe you could drive yourself? |

Well, finally I am back with you all. I feel as if I lost a good friend, cherished advisor and a sweet heart. I wish I could have been here with all of you to share my broken heart for Laurie David and all her friends and family. She had such a generous heart. Wish things were different for the rest of us as we are the ones that will miss her terribly. Her strong spirit soars with gusto and will rest in our hearts forever. My love and sympathy for Lala and the loss of her beautiful mother. And Marsha for your family as well. I will be thinking of my little girl Debbie today. It is the 11th anniversary of her leaving us. I can hear her smiling down on me as I struggle with my little Akeelah. She loved all things animal and would be so elated for me. I hear you my angel with a still heavy heart. Peetie hope you had a great birthday. I have a busy day with dr apt and other errands that I put off with the rain. I'm so happy to be back. I didn't even know I had internet again until I opened the computer to do something else. Oh making my new recipe of caramel boudino. we will see!!

OMGoodness Deb! That yawning man made me yawn too!!! ![]() Re: eyes dilated, the office usually has dark plastic throwaway lenses that you can place behind your glasses or sunglasses that greatly reduces the effects of day light on dilated eyes.... My eyes are very sensitive to the light after dilation and these lenses do work for me... I do not have too far to drive though... Sandie, welcome back!

OMG this caramel boudino is to die for!!! It's all made from scratch for vanilla pudding and caramel sauce. Then you use chocolate cookies (grated) and top with whip cream. I'll post the recipe. This could be made with pre made vanilla pudding and pre made caramel sauce but why??? Remember me going to Santa Barbara for the vanilla paste? That is what I used in this recipe. It really sends it over the top!!! The today show is raising 5-6 puppies for guide dogs. They are caring for them for 16 weeks so that must be thoughout their training! I'm glad I did not continue with that program. It would have broken my heart to give it to someone else. Of course if your puppy fails training you have the option to keep it. Thank you Linda and Marsha. No one should ever experience this! Marti exactly why I don't want Akeelah in the back yard with my hawk.

Hi Linda, Thank you! I forgot about the "sunglasses". Did that!! No problem. I even bought my first pair of prescription sunglasses two years ago. They are wonderful. Even if the sun is not in your face, it can be very bright outside. My eyes love them! Hi Sandie! My friend who I sit with at the music jams makes a chocolate/peanutbutter ball. Instead of peanuts in the peanut butter, she has something like rice krispies. Sooooo good. She gave be a bag of them at Christmas.

Hello from the almost bottom of South America. We are looking out at the Strait of Magellan to Tierra del Fueto. WOW. We are a long ways south in Patagonia. Flying down from Santiago saw high Andes peaks covered in snow with lots of lakes and glaciers. Nice and cool here a welcome relief after the heat in Santiago yesterday. Sorry Deb. Yes, Karen GO DUCKS!!Unfortunately we won't be able to see the game. Off to explore a bit.

Wowee, Katie, you are near the Southern tip of the World! They say the Anarctic is colder than the Arctic. Enjoy the beautiful scenery. I got about 1 1/2 hours of quilting done! I should contact the school district so I can go back to subbing for about 2 days a week. |

Marti yes.....I have had those. They really are delish Marsha Back to the "grind" of work again. Although 2 days a week isn't too bad! Katie you really are our travel advisor!! Sounds like a wonderful time and really cool! I'm not at all familiar with where you are so can't wait for pictures!! Well I'm familiar with Patagonia cause we have a store here Mina I always go alone even with getting my eyes dilated. I don't have a problem with the sunglasses they give you. But we are all different. |

I was just exhausted and didn't even realize I had fallen asleep. Akeelah was obviously bored and knocked over the trash in the bathroom and chewed all the paper in the trash and was working on my shoe. S he's only a puppy....she's only a puppy.....she's only a puppy!!! |
