I saw that video earlier today, Jill. Too funny! I guess his people taught him to open the drawer to where his toys were kept and he took it upon himself to learn to open the fridge.

Laurie Akeelah is great when she is asleep. But let Paul come over and take off his shoes!!! She chews them up and takes the strings out of the holes and pulls the insoles out. Paul just laughs and laughs. I on the other hand am mortified!!! I don't want her doing that to my shoes!!! And I guess it will be just fine with me if she does not follow in the footsteps of that lab opening the refrigerator. Wonder what the owners said after they walked in. Did it eat the food from the refrigerator? That is all very funny as long as it isn't YOUR DOG that is doing it!!!Mina I'm sorry your house is so cold. I hate to think of you having to pay so much on your bill and you still have to be wrapped up in your blanket..... Remember I told you about the retro for DD's social security. It starts from the time you apply. They will reduce it if she is also getting food stamps. I guess the amount depends on the $$$ value of the food stamps. There is an organization here that will come out and weatherize your house for free and help seniors with their electric bill. It used to be called community action but the name has changed. Call your local Area Agency on Aging for information. Cat you can't expect them to understand too much unless one of them happens to "walk in your shoes". I always thought as part of a doctors education they should have to partake of the same tests they order for their patients. But it is nice to hear that they do at least listen to you. Where there is a will there is a way. Hope your continued education and input will make some inroads!!! I remember when we went to Albuquerque those mountains are all around the town. It's very beautiful. Hey that show is over in Las Vegas so where is Penny???? Maybe enjoying some warm sun rays? |

Hi Jill, Laurie, Sandie, Karen, Linda, and Mina! I didn't say why we missed the game last night. We went to the mortuary to see Pauline's body, and we were quite unhappy as to how they prepared her. We paid a $300 beautician service fee, yet they didn't do her hair or any make-up. Her left hand was severly bruised from her treatments, and we thought they would try to put foundation on that, too. Well, we came back home quite upset, and they said they would definitely do what we asked. Grrrrrrrr. The atmosphere is on our home last night, was thick. The mortuary called to say the did the things we asked, before driving her body up to LA, for Thursday's service. Sorry, to pour all this out on you guys, but you're great listeners, just like Pauline was. Hugs to all of you.

Marsha what in the world is the matter with people? Doesn't a beautician imply that those things would be done? What did this person do....just carry the money to the bank. I get so frustrated sometimes. I hope she looks more presentable when she gets here for her final viewing. Karen I didn't see your post until just now. A lot of this "stuff" misbehavior began when it was no longer correct to punish your children. I'm not talking about battery....I'm talking about a good swat to their bottom. Kids do not feel the consequences of their actions these days. Go back to when it was ok to punish a kid and we would have different kids on the planet. Send them to the nuns for their education! Those rulers on your knuckles hurt and you remember if for a very long time. I wish I could go to San Jose also for Laurie.

When a wife goes missing in Texas- A husband went to the sheriff's department to report that his wife was missing. Husband - I've lost my wife. She went shopping yesterday and has not yet come home. Sergeant - What is her height? Husband - Gee , I really never noticed. Maybe about five feet tall. Sergeant - Build? Husband - Not slim, not really fat. Sergeant - Color of eyes? Husband - Never noticed. Sergeant - Color of hair? Husband - Changes a couple times a year . . . maybe red. Sergeant - What was she wearing? Husband - Could have been a skirt or shorts. I don’t remember exactly. Sergeant - Did she go in a car? Husband - No, she went in my truck. Sergeant - What kind of truck was it? Husband - Brand new Ford F-150 with Eco -boost V6 engine special ordered with manual transmission, four-wheel drive, tinted windows, custom matching white cover for the bed, special alloy wheels and off road Michelins. Wife put a small scratch on the driver's side door. At this point the husband started tearing up a little and almost cried. Sergeant - Don't worry, Bubba . . . We'll find your truck |

Jill, you manage to find the best jokes and funny pictures. Marti, that photo of solar halos is astounding. I never knew that could happen. I guess the atmosphere must have to be just right for that to happen.

Marsha, that is so sad and frustrating that the funeral home would make such a mistake. I need to get ready for tomorrow then have dinner. I hope everyone has a wonderful evening. |

Does anyone remember when the baby giraffe was born at the Santa Barbara Zoo? Linda (Lala) posted a wonderful photo of the baby and its mother which I would like to use in my book (if she gives her permission, of course!) and I'm trying to find it. |

Mina - Buttercup was born at the SB zoo Nov. 13, 2014. The family who are sponsoring him were given naming rights - story goes that one of the children had the nickname of "Buttercup". |

Mina that was a great picture!!! Hope you can use it! Shiela. Miss seeing you here. How are you and DH?I have been working with Akeelah in training her and decided to mix it up a little. I was sitting on one couch when she left to wander around. I called her to come to me and she returned to where she saw me last and I had moved to the other couch. The look on her face was priceless. It was a double take. I left you right here on this couch just a second ago!!! She found me right away but it just was adorable. And I have been using a litter box for her...btw that is just working perfect! But when she gets into her terror run around the rug into the hall and into the kitchen she is now using the litter box as a way to stop herself. Reminds me of those escape ramps for the big rigs on the highway if they lose their brakes. She just slides into the litter. |

Thanks Sandie and catM. Jill, you do find interesting and funny things to post. I had saved the Irish Ghost Story. Wasn't that you that had posted it? Mina, I truly want to visit you one day. My sister (that passed away and BIL) lived (s) in Arcadia, so it's not that far from Altadena. Hi Sheila, and Carol, I'm not watching any game. I missed the football game, yesterday. It's okay... I have a few phone calls to make. Later - friends. |
