Another cold one last night - it was 20 below zero this morning at 6am. Brr. A warm up on the way though.

A little snow for the Blackwaters today. Still waiting for Egg #3. :pacing:

Lots of tasks on my desk today. It's nice to see the sunshine for a change.

Good Morning from the :flk: :flk: belt Peeps :}^

We arrived home at 4:00 AM on Monday after waiting for a very long time at the Las Vegas airport for our plane to show up from Denver. It never came so we waited some more until one came from Kelowna BC so we could get home

It really rained hard all day on our last day in Vegas but before that it was :*: and warm the entire time. Mid to high 60’s during the day…they called it ‘The January Thaw’ Siobhan
was a little upset at being back in the cold and snow belt…she’ll get used to it though but will miss her daily walks outside and so will we.

It was -27C when we arrived...Brrrr!!!! Today a warm up is starting with a high of -9C/27F :**:

Yesterday I spent the day with Mom who has been really great the whole time we've been gone and then I get a call from HomeCare telling me they can't give Mom her meds because she is busy being seasick to her stomach :o I really think it might have been the seafood croissant she had for dinner the night before because she doesn't have a fever or the runs. Still a worry though and I will be spending today with her again to make sure she stays hydrated and eating.

We had quite a nice time in Vegas. Saw some great shows and on our last night we went to the first show at The Jewish Film Festival called 'Jerusalem,' This is an IMAX format movie and the director was there as well as other people who worked on it. There was a Q&A afterwards and one of the interesting things he told us was that it took 5 years to make this film because of all the red tape they had to manage to overcome. At every turn they were told NO, you can't do that!!! Flying a helicopter over the Dome of the Rock has never been allowed...until finally they got all the permissions needed. He made 14 trips to Israel with his crew to get this film made. Coincidentally Daniel Ferguson is a Canadian who also studied at McGill so he and DH had a few things in common. He was sitting directly behind me throughout the film and he was telling his companions a lot of things about the making of the movie even before it started, so we had a lot of information we wouldn't have known about it :)^

This 45 minute film is a must see for everyone...it has been banned in Kuwait and other Muslim countries because it has 3 young teenage girls; Christian, Jewish and Muslim; who all live there talking about and showing their customs and traditions. Really a gorgeous movie of a city we have never been to but now feel we have seen it as most who go there will never be able to. Check it out for yourselves :ok:

Jerusalem Trailer (1:50)

Longer version (7:00)

YES we had a really great time in Vegas...never gamble so we don't have anything to be :( about

A few pics from The Bellagio ‘Year of the Goat’ botanical display in the lobby. They change the display 6 times a year and we were there when the newest installation was opened. It took 4 days. These were moving so most of my pics are a bit blurry…beautiful floral displays and lovely waterfalls…it is always amazing. They have a Chilhuly glass ceiling in a part of the lobby also as well as many really huge glass sculptures in different areas. We love the ambiance of that Hotel/Casino and we found out that they are now a dog friendly facility. Woo Hoo !!!

Penny sorry your mom was sick to her tummy. Sometimes that fish type stuff just isn't so wonderful for older tummies. Hope she feels better. I yearn to go to Vegas. Have not been there is a long time. Spent my honeymoon at the Dunes hotel too long ago to count! I feel as if I had been there recently tho with all the pics you posted. You look as adorable as ever! Yes when you work on the set or know people that have worked on the set you really hear the "real deal" and makes the movie so much more interesting. I don't go to the movies much any more...... :hair: :8O: I have no life rofl

Lala i'm glad (I think) that the nest finally fell. They didn't have any eggs in it when it fell did it? I thought it was too early for eggs? It is so difficult to finalize things. I'm glad you had your mom for so very long. At least you had the opportunity to arrange things with a lot of family help.

Laurie Coleman and my kitties have gotten that face several times.....It's usually not a happy face. Cats can have a lot of disdain!!!! Speckle used to look at my Doberman Koenig with that face a lot right before she would hiss or swipe a paw at his face and then walk away with her tail in the air. But she was a feral kitty and didn't put up with much guff from ANY of us.

Akeelah is experiencing a game changing day. This morning I took her to the groomers and got her nails clipped and her feet buzz cut. She was so good!!! I had visions of having to hold her down :8O: cuz the groomer said the cost depends on her behavior. :hair: I noticed she was a little freaked by her shaking on the grooming table. Good experience for her tho. And she walked on the ground today like a real doggy. Now we will have to work on proper walking and not pull walking!! Then later we will visit the doggie play time at Send Rover on Over. Her trainer used to own this place and her partner bought her out. They have a puppy/doggy play according to size/weight/age. I'll know more later but she will get to play with little ones her own size.
