Good morning, Carol!

Marsha, I would love for you to come and visit. Just give me a little warning if you can so I can get my cleaning lady to come.

Linda, i couldn't get those pictures to load in my Photo files, but I was able to find one that you took on a November post, and for some reason that one worked just fine. THANKS so much. I will need to crop it and it will be in black and white. I hop that is OK. You will, of course, have a credit by the photo.

This is the picture I have chosen for the cover of my book. The book is called "Threads of My Life," from my poem "The Caterpillar and the Butterfly." I took the picture at the Butterfly Show at the LA Natural History Museum.

Mina your butterfly photo is perfect for your book cover :><: :><: :><:

Sandie you are such a good puppy Mom :chk: Taking KeeKee to 'rover come on over' to socialize with other dogs is smart and she will have some fun with other dogs too. Helps to get rid of some of her puppy energy.

Do not allow her to chew on any of your belongings....may be cute now but not an easy habit to break :hair: Just remove anything she is chewing on and give her the puppy chew toys instead. She will soon give up tearing into anything you don't want her to. Remember all those real :clk: 's of sofa's and pillows etc that are torn apart while owners are away? That could happen to you :o

 Thanks Penny. She won't have much of an opportunity to tear or rip into anything as she will always be with me!! I am guilty of allowing her to play with Paul's shoes but I will have to stop that. She has now taken a liking to MY SHOES :8O: and I can't replace those too often as they are my ortho shoes :8O: I plan on taking her to the transportation center here one of these days pretty soon. Buses and trains arrive and depart from there all the time. I learned a lot about things like that when I was thinking about taking a puppy to raise for the guide dogs. Now that I can put her on the ground it will be a lot easier to take her places!!! I am very glad she is not interested in cords. At least not yet!!!

Mina I love your cover choice. Perhaps Lala can send the Buttercup picture to you in a different format so you can still use it? I'm so excited for you and your book!!! And it looks like you are going to be done within your time frame? Wasn't it in January? >O< :)^ I hope Gen is getting what she needs now with all the new doctors back there.

Marti what a spectacular Jay!!!

Good Morning, all.

Mina, love you cover photo.

Marti, Steller's jays are one of my favorites. We have lots of them in the higher elevations here but they don't usually come down this far - we are only at 6100 feet! :P

Sandie: Great Dane puppy?? :8O: It will tower over your baby. Should be interesting.
Mina: Love your cover photo. Butterflies are such miraculous creatures. I try to plant as many of their favorite plants in my garden as I can. Just saw one a few days ago flitting over the Lantana flowers.

 They suggested that match cause the Great Dane puppy is smaller than her and is only 8 weeks old. I wonder how long it will take for the Dane puppy to catch up to her. She is getting to be a real little chunk of a puppy. Very sturdy looking and stronger than I imagined she would be. I guess she has taken on the role of watch dog now also. She barks at perceived doom!!! rofl

Good Afternoon/Evening

MARTI..Such a beautiful picture of the Steller Jay! <3

Just returned home a little while ago. My dear neighbor and went for a Happy New Year lunch..(we will come up with any excuse to get together) :D Then we popped into Macy's to buy some new "onesies" for baby Kayli. Her Mommy prefers ones that zipper ...so our choices were limited...but we both found some nice ones...I bought 6 month size....Kayli is growing like a little weed for only being 1 month old today. She already is 9 lbs.

Wow everyone must be really busy! Very quiet here today. Are we losing our "family" here? I hope not.

Glad to see the two guys made it to the top of El Capitan in Yosemite alive and well.

I was very sad this morning when I learned that Ray Bradbury's (SiFi writer) home was being demolished...we were first cousins. Such a modest, unassuming home in the Cheviot Hills area of Los Angeles. I did snag some online photos of what's remaining of the home. All of his writing was done in his basement on a blue electric typewriter...such a cluttered space...a writers paradise. I'd have driven up to see it one last time had I known it was to be torn down.

A very quick hello. Haven't had Internet so have no idea what is going on. We're in Torre de Paine NP. Have had unusually spectacular weather will try and post pictures when we get to our next stop which is in an actual town. It is so amazing down here. We are just blown away. Besides the spectacular scenery the wildlife is amazing. Have seen condors and hundreds of guanacos.

Time to board the bus.
