Good Sunday Morning Chat Friends! Wishing everybody a beautiful Sunday. Hi Carol! Okay, have you been up all night? Drinking my breakfast before leaving for church. Oh, yesterday, I actually went onto NO. How wonderful it was to watch the eagles again, busy on their nests. Like duh Marsha, isn't what this is all about?

If your nerves can take this written , first hand, hour by hour account of a boat owner, on his boat, during the harrowing night in Avalon when the surprise, huge, Santa Ana wind event slammed the Harbor. My heart is in my throat as I read his story. Almost 12 hours of mayhem, destruction and panic during the night of Dec. 30, 2014 and most sadly loss of life.. Honestly, after reading his compelling account of events during that night, it is truly a miracle there were not more lives lost. The Harbor Patrol rescuers risked life and limb. Brave Men Indeed!!!NOTE: At the end of his report...there are 2 of his photos that give you some idea of how high the waves were...but I am sure even those pics are only a hint of what those onboard their boats saw and endured. ![]() http://us9.campaign-archive1.com/?u=ebf128...2d&e=cb9bbf71b3 |

From Facebook: David Coleman feeling emotional and thankful 32 mins · San Jose, CA · Thanks to everyone that made yesterday such a nice day. It was a very full memorial. I began to realize as last week progressed what a huge impact Laurie had on everyone and was impressed at the efforts some of you went to so that you could attend. I appreciate all of you that did the little things (i.e. picking up ice, cake, etc) as if it wasn't for those things it certainly would have been more difficult. I appreciate all those who talked about Laurie. Thanks to my family for putting together the memorial with just the basic information about artists and speakers from me. I'll leave a few big thank you's out for now and hold them until I get the memorial video and a special surprise video that I found out about yesterday (I'm not sure where that will be posted). Special thank you to my brother (Mike) for MC-ing the event. It couldn't have happened without you. Thank you Ruth, Linda, JA Pichler (Jean), and Sandra for your talks about Laurie and participation. |

HI Carole, Karen, Christine, and catM. Karen, I'll get to that video later, but am anxious to see it. Christine, thanks for keeping us informed about Laurie's service. Also, looking forward to seeing that.I'm going to go change into something comfortable. I left for church a little earlier than usual, and did lots of stuff, afterwards. |

I cannot believe the football game I just witnessed.... I almost left with 5 minutes to go because who can make two touchdowns in 5 minutes ??? Well, Seattle can for sure... then Green Bay comes back to tie it with seconds to go.... Seahawks prevail!!!! One of the best games ever... I feel like it WAS the Super Bowl. I told Joel that wearing those Seattle Seahawk pajamas when he was 9 years old would pay off some day.... Well, it paid off last year too but here they come again... Wonderful game. |

THRILLED WITH THE SEAHAWKS!!! ASTOUNDING END OF THE GAME!!!!! PULLING FOR THE PATS NOW...LOOKS LIKE THIS ONE IS IN THE BAG FOR THEM.!!! 3RD QUARTER. MARSHA...The article I posted about the HARROWING NIGHT IN AVALON HARBOR .. it is not a video... even though there is a news video in the picture]...just keep scrolling past the picture for the story to begin...it is compelling written account, as the hours passed, written by a boat owner on his boat during the entire event. It is heartracing account. |

Hi everyone, busy day.... Carol glad you are safe at home. Just read the weather report for NJ.....Not good! Stay safe! My heart is heavy, thinking about all the sadness the past few days/weeks. I was there too. For Laurie's family, the days will go on, but with a little less pain than the day before. It's like the facebook quote the other day, the wounds do not go away, but they scab over in time so you don't hurt so much. Some days are better than others. Lala, you and your family were blessed to have your Mom for so long. And she was blessed with such a close and loving family. The kids and grandkids have learned that life can be very sad. But she will be with all of you in your hearts. You all have part of her that you will go forward with, and she will never be forgotten. Marsha, the same is true for you.... she is with you forever in your heart. Big hugs to everyone. |

HiKaren, yes, you're right. I read the article and it is amazing more people were not killed because of that storm! Thank goodness his wife and children were back at the hotel!!!!! Hi Marti, yes, Pauline's passing was not tragic, just sad for her family left behind. When my Mom's time comes, the same will be for her. Our (her ) Faith also plays a big part in what how we feel. We KNOW SHE is with the Lord. PS I know we're not suppose to talk about religion, but those of us that believe, our Faith is all that really matters in the end. Laurie's situation is totally different being only 44 years young. You said you were there, too. You flew over to California? I just didn't remember hearing that you were going to go. How sweet was that!
