It appears that one of the Two Harbors chicks fell out of the nest just after 2:48 this afternoon. Unfortunately, it went off the side that has a 300+ foot vertical fall. The Pinnacle Rock chick may have encountered a similar fate, as it is no longer in the nest. Not a good week for the Catalina eagles.

Are there any plans to try to retrieve this :^: or did it drop into the water?
Do you think the parents would try to feed it on the ground if it somehow survived the fall?

I don't have a rope long enough to reach the bottom and there is no way to land a kayak along the cliff bottom. It most likely would have bounced into the ocean at the base of the cliff. If the chick were alive then the adults would continue to feed it.
