Cruz' nest

Thanks for the Cruz, golden eagle comments. Can you say what eagle built the nest Cruz goes to, or if it's a nest used over and over again. If the golden eagle killed Cruz' mate, how does one eagle kill another? Does Cruz have a chance to find another mate?

The nest could have been built by the Fraser Point bald eagles or be a remnant nest from when the golden eagles were breeding on the island. Eagles generally kill each other using their talons, either immediately or through severe wounds. Two males were seen at the nest this year, so she has a good chance of finding a new mate.
