Ravens; Do ravens prey on eagles

Bird friends around Mendocino have reported more ravens preying on shorebirds and even eagles as their number of ravens increases up there. Is that what is happening with the ravens which were bothering the WE nest a while back? Would future eaglets be in danger? These observers said it's heartbreaking seeing shorebirds become raven prey and were wondering what could be done about the expanding number of ravens.

Ravens have always been a threat to the eagle chicks. Raven numbers are increasing because humans provide so much food for them (trash, crops, road kill, feeding cats outdoors, etc.) and perch/nesting sites where they didn't occur before (power poles across the deserts, buildings). They are protected by the Migratory Bird Treaty Act, so they can't be legally killed to control their numbers.

If those ravens keep hanging around the WE nest do you think the eagles will be able to defend their eaglets? Which one would win if it is eagle vs. Raven? Eagles can grab with their claws but how do ravens take down their prey?
