PLEASE READ The Nest Observations/Nest Watch thread remains open ... as long as there are cameras ... which are operational ... to watch. Normally the VCOE and the IWS work on the cam equipment during the fall/winter ... so the cams may go off from time to time ... but we are normally advised by them if they are working in the area. Just a few Gentle Reminders about posting on this thread. (Helps to save time when reading through it.) Please remember that it is the CHANNEL ISLANDS NESTS ONLY, either on or off camera, that we post our observations/comments about. There are FIVE IWS nests with cameras online, so it is important to know WHICH NEST you are observing. Please put the Initials at the start of your post. . . . ♦ ALL NEST CAMS - http://www.iws.org/interactive_nestchat_allUstream.html . . . ♦ BC = Bald Canyon on San Clemente Island - Temporarily unavailable . . . ♦ FP = Fraser Point - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-x1vmksUzbk . . . ♦ SC = Sauces Canyon (WMP) - http://media1.vcoe.org/eaglecam2 Temporarily unavailable . . . ♦ SC = Sauces Canyon - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iHnvyzM0MNc . . . ♦ SC = Sauces Canyon (Explore) - http://explore.org/live-cams/player/sauces-bald-eagle . . . ♦ TH = Two Harbors - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yh1sIcKJkhM . . . ♦ WE = West End - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0lLd4fQw8dc These nests are all in California ... so it's Pacific Time on this coast. We prefer that the Quote Button is not used on this thread ... and if you must use it ... because you are referring to something on a previous page ... then take TEXT only ... never captures or video. Thanks! |

“A request from Dr. Sharpe”
To make it easier for the biologists to see the prey deliveries, please limit the use of the blue fish to prey deliveries only. Begin your post with the nest initials, followed by the time of delivery & the blue fish.
Thank you! |

Bringing Forward Posted 11/5/16 by Dr. Sharpe on IWS Chat: "Over the next 1-2 months we will be working on completely replacing the Two Harbors, West End, and Sauces camera systems in cooperation with Explore.org. We will likely do a little work on the Fraser Point cam as well. Work at/near the nests should be completed by 15 December and work on relay sites should be completed by mid-January. Therefore, cams may be off for days/weeks at a time through the end of the year. The web addresses for individual cams will change as the new cams come online, so make sure to check this page for new links." Posted 11/15/16 on the IWS Facebook page: " The Two Harbors nest is on YouTube now. We have not done any renovations yet, so it may go offline again in a couple weeks." |

TH - Here's an edited video of the camera looking for eagles. Most of it is sped up, slowed down only to show the eagle flying off, then sped up again. TH – Panning for Eagles p.s. The eagle is very hard to see, so I used arrows to point it out. |
