SC Eagle brought a branch that looks to be the same type as the nest tree...
Ed.: Was obviously wrong about that!

SC Eagle looks around, alerts to the front, steps foward and flies off that way at 7:45. Almost immediately after an eagle lands...

TH:
Carrying this over from 7 days ago...

Institute for Wildlife Studies 7 days ago
I expect some turnover at Catalina nests this year. I'd expect the Empire pair to break up because they have never hatched a chick, and the male that tried to take over the West End nest is likely around still looking for a nest. The Empire pair is just around the corner from Two Harbors, so they probably interact with the Two Harbors pair on a regular basis.

I'm almost certain that Dr. Sharpe is referring too K-51... ugh.. lol. aka Romeo!
I can't help but ponder this in my mind, yet again.

Maybe - this is why we are only seeing them in the tree...
Is it a boundary point.. keep your distance?

Come on TH: Eagles.... Lets get with it!!

Good morning, everyone!

Good to see our SC pair so busy this morning.
Their nest is really looking good. :)^
I never ceases to amaze me how they manage to put the sticks in place only using their beaks.
I keep trying to help them, but somehow my help does as much good as the break pedal from the passenger side of a car does!

Barb, wonderful captures of SC!
Thank you so much!

Jackie, I agree with you.
I wish the TH pair would get busy on their nest.
So curious to see what 2017 will bring to this pair/nest.

Also curious to see what will happen with A-49/Cruz and the FP nest.
Sure wish the golden eagle would leave! :X:
It's a beautiful eagle, but it just doesn't belong here!
