SC - I doubt it's hail, but once in a while I see a drop that looks more like ice than water. Windy.

"I'm pretty sure at least one of the birds is part of the previous pair, but they are never close enough to read tags. Problem is that the male from the territory around the corner, who I expect will search for a new mate this season, also has no wing tags, just like K-81. I'm also not sure if the female from that territory still has both of her wing tags (she should be looking for a new mate too)."

TH - did something happen to our pair? I see Dr. Sharpe's post (and thank you), but is this just speculation? Because he can't read leg bands?

SC - I see the adult eating prey!

Patti .. we are hoping that the pair we see perched on the gnarly tree/branches are K-81 and K-82. However we haven't had a zoom in on the bling on one of the adults to confirm if it is K-82 .. if she still has her right bling.

K-81 has lost both blings so unless we get a close-up of his leg bands we will be unable to verify it is him.

Dr. Sharpe has posted that he thinks the Empire Quarry pair may split due to not having any success over the years .. and so as they are close to the TH Nest the male .. K-51 .. may be looking out for a new mate.

From Dr. Sharpe on chat.

"Institute for Wildlife Studies Mod
I rebooted the 8 antennas needed to get the West End camera feed to the tower shooting to the mainland and the last two antennas are no longer connecting. All roads are closed because of flooding and mud (we got 4 inches of rain yesterday), so it will be a couple of days before I can get to the Two Harbors area to reset the antennas manually."

TH - Thanks, Pat. I thought that was K-51, but wasn't sure about the territories. I have a soft spot for him, HOWEVER, I am hoping our pair, K81 & K82, remain together until as long as their health allows. We have come to know, and have to expect, there will be drama at times.

Thanks, Dave, for your post.
