PLEASE READ Sad News. The SC nest of ... A-40/m & A-48/f ... had ONE egg ... laid January 31st. Lost February 1st. Posted 2/1/17 on the IWS Facebook page: "Unfortunately, the Sauces birds have already broken their first egg. There should be another laid Thursday afternoon through Friday. This nest always has problems with their eggs for some reason." Just a few Gentle Reminders about posting on this thread. (Helps to save time when reading through it.) Please remember that it is the CHANNEL ISLANDS NESTS ONLY, either on or off camera, that we post our observations/comments about. There are FIVE IWS nests with cameras online, so it is important to know WHICH NEST you are observing. Please put the Initials at the start of your post. . . . ♦ ALL NEST CAMS - http://www.iws.org/interactive_nestchat_allUstream.html . . . ♦ BC = Bald Canyon on San Clemente Island - Temporarily unavailable . . . ♦ FP = Fraser Point - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ij3uMPMRrak . . . ♦ SC = Sauces Canyon (WMP) - http://media1.vcoe.org/eaglecam2 Temporarily unavailable . . . ♦ SC = Sauces Canyon - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ftp5UhFJX0 . . . ♦ SC = Sauces Canyon (Explore) - http://explore.org/live-cams/player/sauces-bald-eagle . . . ♦ TH = Two Harbors - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8SJYl6eOEwg . . . ♦ WE = West End - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6630LD-bFJc These nests are all in California ... so it's Pacific Time on this coast. We prefer that the Quote Button is not used on this thread ... and if you must use it ... because you are referring to something on a previous page ... then take TEXT only ... never captures or video. Thanks! |

“A request from Dr. Sharpe”
To make it easier for the biologists to see the prey deliveries, please limit the use of the blue fish to prey deliveries only. Begin your post with the nest initials, followed by the time of delivery & the blue fish.
Thank you! |

Bringing Forward Posted 2/1/17 on the IWS Facebook page: "Unfortunately, the Sauces birds have already broken their first egg. There should be another laid Thursday afternoon through Friday. This nest always has problems with their eggs for some reason." Posted 2/1/17 by Dr. Sharpe on IWS Chat: "I thought the Sauces female was hitting branches when she dug down yesterday, so perhaps the egg was laying against something hard, causing it to break. Or perhaps DDT is still an issue." |
