TH and WE .. looks like Explore may still be having issues with the Cox internet that Dr. Sharpe posted about on the IWS Chat the other day. See below .. Posted 1/31/17 by Dr. Sharpe on IWS Chat: "I had Explore turn off the highlights for the Two Harbors and West End nests because they come on every time there is a blip in the video stream (they are having issues with the Cox internet at our mainland site) and take a long time to go off once the video stream is back. Now we should be getting more live video." |

SC .. 2:50pm .. A-48 is pacing around the bowl and checking the egg. Looks like it could be broken. ![]() There could be branches below the fluff .. that are piercing the eggs. A-48 has resettled down on the bowl .. but I think we have a problem. ![]()

SC That's what I was afraid of... A48 eats from the broken egg. Ed.: Or I'm seeing things, maybe due to more of that equivocal behavior as a little while ago...she's now settled in. |

SC .. 3:08pm .. A-40 arrives from the front. Brought fluff. A-48 whines at him .. doesn't move at first. She pulls fluff around her then rises .. egg covered partially with the fluff .. A-48 moves to the front. A-40 has moved to the bowl .. can't see because A-48 in the way. 3:12pm .. A-48 flew off front left. A-40 approaching the bowl ... he has removed the egg shell .. two pieces.

SC .. we always say it's better to lose eggs than chicks .. but boy it sure is hard today watching the adults on this nest with two of their eggs now broken. |
