PLEASE READ Sad News. The SC nest of ... A-40/m & A-48/f ... had ONE egg ... laid January 31st. Lost February 1st. A second egg was laid on February 3rd. Unfortunately this egg broke a couple of hours later. Cause unknown. Just a few Gentle Reminders about posting on this thread. (Helps to save time when reading through it.) Please remember that it is the CHANNEL ISLANDS NESTS ONLY, either on or off camera, that we post our observations/comments about. There are FIVE IWS nests with cameras online, so it is important to know WHICH NEST you are observing. Please put the Initials at the start of your post. . . . ♦ ALL NEST CAMS - http://www.iws.org/interactive_nestchat_allUstream.html . . . ♦ BC = Bald Canyon on San Clemente Island - Temporarily unavailable . . . ♦ FP = Fraser Point - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=122mIMz7zVE . . . ♦ SC = Sauces Canyon (WMP) - http://media1.vcoe.org/eaglecam2 Temporarily unavailable . . . ♦ SC = Sauces Canyon - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ftp5UhFJX0 . . . ♦ SC = Sauces Canyon (Explore) - http://explore.org/live-cams/player/sauces-bald-eagle . . . ♦ TH = Two Harbors - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QQD-CdW4QJ0 . . . ♦ WE = West End - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sU3HWE6Vg-Q These nests are all in California ... so it's Pacific Time on this coast. We prefer that the Quote Button is not used on this thread ... and if you must use it ... because you are referring to something on a previous page ... then take TEXT only ... never captures or video. Thanks! |

“A request from Dr. Sharpe”
To make it easier for the biologists to see the prey deliveries, please limit the use of the blue fish to prey deliveries only. Begin your post with the nest initials, followed by the time of delivery & the blue fish.
Thank you! |

Bringing Forward Posted 2/2/17 by Dr. Sharpe on IWS Chat in regard to all the freezing: "Explore is having trouble with their new Cox internet line. They are working with Cox to try to find out what the problem is. I can watch the cameras on a direct link, so it has nothing to do with the cameras.” “They are having problems with their mainland internet connections. Quite annoying." Posted 2/5/17 by Dr. Sharpe on IWS Chat in answer to a question about the SC nest: "We raised the camera higher at Sauces, which is why we can now see the eggs. I don't think the nest construction has anything to do with the eggs breaking (even though I said earlier that maybe they were hitting sticks). This nest has gotten thicker over the years and the center of the nest should just be grass and composted grass. Any sticks should be a foot or more down." Posted 2/5/17 by Dr. Sharpe on IWS Chat: "WE and TH should be back tomorrow when the batteries recharge. It may be later in the morning because we are expecting rain all day." |

Fraser Point Good morning! The cam starts with the live stream, the nest is empty. The cam stops again Will I be lucky today? All these new You Tube cam links are confusing me, they do not work the next day. My PC seems to have some trouble with at open all You Tube cam links. I must to reboot from time to time, the cams suddenly shows a black screens, only rebooting helps. I also have trouble to get the You Tube red line/ archive on and the stop and start button and the button for the audio, I must restart the web side several times, until I get them on. |

SC at 10.38 AM A-48 lands on the nest, she digs in the nest bowl, works on a branch at the left side of the nest. At 10.40 AM, A-40 arrives with some green grass, he digs in the nest bowl. ![]() ![]() At 1043 AM, A-40 flies off to the right. A-48 cries out twice and again.. |

SC at 10:47 AM A-48 cries out and flies off, it sounds like a bonding nearby or? the cam moves to the left and both adult eagles are on a tree, side by side. The cam zooms in on A-48 and A-40. ![]() |
