I hate iTunes. I bought an entire soundtrack of music and it is stuck in limbo. I can't listen to it.

iTunes runs terribly on Windows. It takes much longer to load than WMP. It often freezes for long periods of time for no apparent reason. And for apparent reasons that really don't warrant a freeze, like adding songs to your library. And it's just all-around sluggish. I don't know if it's much better on OS X. If it didn't suck as much speedwise, it would probably be my favorite media player.

I don't lag, I own so much it takes a few seconds for the server to figure out what the Maybe the helicopter...maybe it's made of chocolate! I just did.

I will defend the iPhone and iPod Touch as being the greatest MP3 players of all time. Provided you jailbreak them and get them out of Apple's tight grip first, of course. They can do things you would never imagine an MP3 player would do.

E.G. You can use your iPhone's 3G(/EDGE) service to connect to the internet *on your laptop* wherever you go. Just start a wireless adhoc network between the 2 and run some app from Cydia, and bam. You're browsing broadband on your notebook on your next roadtrip. All without spending a dime on a 3G card or 3G service for your laptop. And an app called xGPS now gives you audio turn-by-turn directions to your destination, without spending a dime on a "real" GPS device. Hell, there's even a stepmania port that lets you import all your songs directly from stepmania on your PC. It really is the gift that keeps on giving.

The only improvement that I *really* want to see on the iPhone/iTouch is the upgrade from 128MB of ram to 256MB. It would be FANTASTIC if they did this. As of right now, the device uses all but about 35MB of ram all on its own, without anything running. This is a *very* limited amount of ram for browsing websites and such, and more or less destroys the ability to run more than one app at once. With 256MB, your ram would be virtually unlimited, and you could easily run an internet radio app, an IM client, have your email auto-checked in the background frequently, and be running your favorite 3D game all at the same time.

That said, I will never buy a Mac. For many, many reasons. They're not half as nice as Mac owners apparently believe them to be. And they're blatantly overpriced.

Apparently adding *__* around a word provides extreme emphasis.

I have an iPod nano, the newest one, and I like it, but sometimes the scrolly wheel does not respond accordingly...but this may be contributed to me leaving it in my car when it's really cold sometimes.

And I'll be honest....I do want a Macbook Pro. For the stuff I'd use it for (ie: music related things such as garageband and logic) it'd be better than Windows. However, they're waaayyy too expensive.

And I dislike iTunes as well.

It's the lazy person's boldface. :angrycaptain:

The Touch gives much more bang for your buck, and it is almost equally portable. Not that I have anything against the nano. But you can't install GBA emulators on it, ect.

PROTIP: You can install OS X on a PC if you know what you're doing. And PCs are more hardware for your buck. :guy:

Touch is $230. Not so bad. And it does over 9000 things the nano doesn't. Pretty much anything the iPhone can do without the use of 3G, bluetooth, the phone, or GPS. Although that last bit is arguable.

It's 75 bucks. Not bad for full GPS functionality. :betadadmunchkin:

EDIT: Oh, and I almost forgot, the iPod Touch 2G has built-in bluetooth. Apple just doesn't let you use it. And it's got support for headset mics for use with services like Skype and such.

I figured it would run better on OS X. It's native software. But I think the real question is, how much more high-end hardware could you have gotten for the same price had you bought a PC? :luigi:

This is true. There's also no EDGE service. But I guess that's part of the "phone".
