When we last looked at the membership we found a surprising number (about 30% were under 40) although these are the members who are least likely to attend the monthly meetings perhaps due to the talks subject or family commitments which the older members may not have. Perhaps it is to be expected that the older generation are more interested in preserving our motoring heritage and the least interested in "modern" technology. The committee has always tried to encourage the younger element to participate in the CVPG, one of the reasons for this forum. In fact our present treasurer is 31 and our former rally secretary was 25 when she joined the committee and only retired when she had her second child. We have plenty of members under 40 who contribute to the club often in unseen ways such as setting the July treasure hunt, marshaling at the LFT, lending vehicles for Ally Pally etc. It may just be a case of new technology does not interest people engaged in old cars but gathering by the number of folk trading spares on ebay I doubt this is the case.
