That doesn't work because the mysql root info is stored in registry. You can simply delete all registry entries of mysql and then reinstall. Or you could use this command to reset the password: Stop the mysql service from the services tab in computer management. Open up console (administrator mode when on vista/7) Type:UPDATE mysql.user SET Password=PASSWORD('enteryourpassword') WHERE User='root'; replace enteryourpassword with the password you would like next type: FLUSH PRIVILEGES; Start the mysql service again and you're good to go. I can't quite translate the Danish educations for some reason, odd considering it's IT. I'm an educated "webintegrator", which basically means making websites. It also touches some other subjects related to this, like Photoshop (I don't know how many hours of experience I got with that, think 2 digits), Flash and installing and maintaining servers on Linux. I also got some odd ends from this, like how to make nice .pdf's with InDesign and some of the other niche Adobe products.. And Photography. I don't know what for, but yeah. It's mainly used a "springboard" (If that makes sense in English) for other educations which is dependant on it. I'm going for the datamatiker education next, which google suggest means "Computer Science". That's totally not a very generic name. Afaik, it's something akin to software engineering. |

It;s odd because IT is supposed to be international, but it sounds like a branch we have here splitting from software engineering. It's more a blend of media and design + some software. I'm HORRIBLE at designing things, so I stick to typing in 1's and 0's as we call it here ![]() And jubiiboy, it depends on how you have installed mysql, if console line is included, you can use cmd, else you have to use the mysql console. Exactly, supposedly international.. And I know what you mean, I can't for the sake of my life think design. All of my sites have been minimalistic with no fancy 'shopped menu icons, focusing on functionality and usability between browsers and/or media devices. |

You want to delete every MySQL entry? just search for "mysql" and delete everything that has that in it. Before I forget, make sure you UNINSTALL MySQL before you attempt to remove registry entries. Actually, don't mess around in registry at all, do like I posted and reset your MySQL password using the "MySQL Command Line". It should be part of the MySQL shortcut list in your programs folder (start -> all programs). Edited by U231, Nov 23 2010, 06:38 PM.
