Hosts are Mike Teney and Don West Traci and Trinity are looking over some contracts when Abyss gets into the truck. AJ Styles can be seen walking by. Impact! Intro Abyss terrorizes Traci and Trinity until AJ Styles makes the save. They brawl until security breaks it up. This will likely be the other cage match at the Lock Down PPV. I can dig it. Buck Quartermain (0-3) vs. Trytan Lock up and Trytan throws Buck down. Buck throws a few punches but Trytan throws him into the corner. Trytan throws a punch and then tosses Buck across the ring. Trytan hits some shoulders in the corner followed by an elbow to the face. Trytan whips Buck into the corner then hits a big boot. Trytan pummels Buck in the corner and then chokes him. Buck hits a dropkick followed by several kicks to the knee. Buck goes for a whip but Trytan pulls him into a spinebuster. Trytan hits an F-5 which they call the T-3 for the pin at 2:08. Much better showing for Trytan as he managed to look passable in the ring this time. * WINNER: Trytan They show Jarrett's Blue Collar TV appearance. Funny little segment and working with Blue Collar TV is a smart move for TNA. Commercial Break The Outlaw causes more problems among the 3 Live Kru members. Lex Lovett (0-3) and David Young (1-1) vs. Jeff Hardy (1-0) and Shocker (1-0) Young and Hardy start the match. They fight over an arm wrench until Young rakes the eyes. Young sends Hardy into the ropes but gets a kick and Hardy's legdrop to the crotch move. Shocker tags in and they springboard off of each other into Young in the corner. Shocker uses a small package but Lovett makes the save. Young rakes the eyes and tags Lovett in. Shocker hits a big boot followed by a flying forearm off the top rope. Shocker covers for a two count. Hardy tags in and chases Lovett around the ring until Young throws him into the guard rail. Young rolls Hardy into the ring where Lovett stomps him. Lovett uses a legdrop and tags Young in. Young sends Hardy into the ropes and hits a dropkick. Young covers for a two count. Lovett tags in and uses a suplex into a front face lock. Lovett rams Hardy into Young's boot and then tags Young in. Lovett chokes Hardy while Young kicks him. Young hits a clothesline and covers for two. Hardy fights back but runs into a backbody drop. Lovett tags in and they send Hardy into the corner. Hardy hits them with his spinning move off the top rope and tags Shocker in. Shocker hits Lovett and Young with a missile dropkick. Lovett bails out as Shocker rolls Young up with an inside cradble for two. Hardy hits Lovett with a dive as Shocker rolls up Young with the Shockwave for the win at 5:01. Young's fallen victim to that move for the second straight week. I thought it was a solid tag match as Hardy wasn't expected to do much. They need to give some of these jobbers wins to spice the show up a bit in my opinion. ** WINNERS: Jeff Hardy and Shocker Commercial Break Kevin Nash asks Michael Shane where DDP is. Cassidy Reilly (0-2) and Shark Boy (0-1) vs. Harris Brothers (2-0) w/ Traci Reilly and Shark Boy duck some clotheslines before Reilly and a Harris start the match. Reilly ducks a clothesline and hits a hand spring elbow just like Tajiri does followed by a Shark Boy missile dropkick. The other Harris goes for a chokeslam but Shark Boy counters into a bulldog. Harris catches Reilly on a cross body attempt but Shark Boy hits a missile dropkick. Reilly falls on top for almost a two count. The other Harris trips Shark Boy and pulls him to the outside. Harris throws Shark Boy into the guard rail before rolling him back into the ring. The other Harris hits a side slam followed by an Oklahoma Slam. Harris tags in and hits a bunch of elbow drops. Harris hits a big boot and tags the other Harris in. Shark Boy escapes a move and rolls him up for two. Shark Boy ducks a clothesline and gets another rollup for two. Harris hits a big boot and tags the other Harris in. Harris gets a kick, dropkick and enziguri from Shark Boy. Traci gets on the apron and gets a butt bite from Shark Boy. Shark Boy ducks a clothesline and goes for a butt bite but the other Harris kicks him off. Reilly tags in and gets the H-Bomb and pinned at 3:33. I think Shark Boy could make a lot of money for TNA with a push and merchandise. This match was better than I was expecting. *1/2 WINNERS: Harris Brothers Commercial Break Diamond Dallas Page comes out and demands an answer from Dusty Rhodes regarding last week. Dusty Rhodes comes out and agrees to have Nash, DDP and Waltman vs. Jarrett, Brown and the Outlaw in a cage match at Lock Down. Jarrett appears on the big screen and reveals they've beaten down Kevin Nash. Jarrett says they won't make it to the PPV. Commercial Break Raven tries to recruit Jeff Hardy but Hardy politely declines Sonny Siaki (0-1) vs. Apolo (1-0) Lockup is a stalemate. Apolo stops a second lockup to play to the crowd. Lockup and Apolo gets a headlock. Siaki gets hit with a shoulderblock and then a slap. Apolo hits another slap and then gets an uppercut from Siaki. Apolo hits a big boot followed by a spear. Apolo covers for two. Apolo hits a punch but runs into a spinning heel kick. Siaki hits his swinging neckbreaker and covers for two. Apolo hits a powerbomb after a float over. They exchange blows until Siaki runs into a super kick. Siaki ducks another super kick and pulls Apolo back first into his knees. Siaki gets pinned after a blown spot in the corner at 2:39. Garbage. 1/4* WINNER: Apolo They shake hands and Kid Kash comes out and makes fun of them. Siaki wants to fight right now but Kash thinks he has more homosexual motivations for that. Apolo and Siaki decide to chase them to the back. It's hard not to love Kid Kash when he's being an absolute jerk to everyone around him. On the bright side it looks like Siaki will be getting another push. Commercial Break Dustin Rhodes and Scott D'Amore exchange insults. It's Rhodes vs. Bobby Roode at Lock Down. Just to prove D'Amore right I present Austin/Hart at Wrestlemania XIII for the whole Texas vs. Canada argument. Phi Delta Slam (0-1) w/ Trinity vs. America's Most Wanted (1-1) This is going to be a horrible match. Bruno and Harris start the match. Yes I bothered to figure out the Frat Boys names this time around. Lockup and Harris dodges a punch. Harris knocks Bruno out of the ring and hits Til on the apron. Til comes into the ring and gets knocked out by Storm. Commercial Break We're back and the Frat Boys are regrouping on the outside. I hope they weren't out there for the whole commercial break. Storm abuses Bruno and tags Harris in. Bruno gets hit with a double dropkick. Harris rams Bruno into the turnbuckle and hits a punch. Harris gets hit with a low blow on a float over. Bruno hits an elbow drop and tags Til in. Til hits an elbow drop followed by a few punches. Bruno tags in and they hit a double suplex. Til tags in and rams Harris into the corner. Storm comes in which distracts the ref allowing the Frat Boys to double team. Harris gets a double elbow followed by Til tagging in. Harris escapes a move and pushes Til into Bruno. Harris ducks a clothesline and hits a flying forearm. Hot tag time as Storm destroys the Frat Boys. They go for the Death Sentence but Team Canada runs in for the DQ at 6:57. Not as bad as I thought it would be but it was still pretty bad. 3/4* WINNERS: America's Most Wanted Phi Delta Slam and Team Canada give AMW a beatdown. Dustin Rhodes runs out and the faces manage to clean house. That was pretty stupid as Rhodes should've been beaten down too. End of show. Overall: The show started strong but took a nose dive once the DDP interview started. The last two matches are basically disasters and the Kid Kash stuff is really the only decent thing during the last half of the show. Still an ok show as the first half was good for the most part. Match Recap: Trytan d. Buck Quartermain (2:08) with the T-3 * Jeff Hardy and Shocker d. Lex Lovett and David Young (5:01) with the Shockwave ** Harris Brothers d. Cassidy Reilly and Shark Boy (3:33) with the H-Bomb Apolo d. Sonny Siaki (2:39) with a rollup 1/4* America's Most Wanted d. Phi Delta Slam (6:57) by DQ Lock Down Card so far: Six Sides of Steel: Kevin Nash, Diamond Dallas Page and Sean Waltman vs. Jeff Jarrett, Monty Brown and the Outlaw AJ Styles vs. Abyss NWA X Division Title Match: Christopher Daniels © vs. Elix Skipper NWA Tag Team Title Match: America's Most Wanted © vs. Petey Williams, Eric Young or Alastair Ralph Dustin Rhodes vs. Bobby Roode |

Trytan just looked disastrous. The guy's got a horribly strange build and can't pull of the "Monstrous" moveset. I'm not surprised, though. I must say that the show wasn't that bad, but I do think they shouldn't give their jobbers music and an entrance. And they should use different jobbers every week. But they have their reasons, and I'm not going to argue |

Yeah, they really should've kept Kevin Northcutt around for the Trytan character. I'm also awed by the weirdness of Trytan's man boobs as well. EDIT: I think they could fix the jobber problem by rotating the current guys they have. Make it so a jobber only appears once or twice a month. It's kind of silly that I've just started reviewing and Buck Quartermain and Lex Lovett are already 0-4 during my review time. It just kills the match when you see the guy lose every week. |

It's hard not to notice the jiggly-ness. I can't decide what's more disturbing: Trytan's jiggly man-boobs, or Rene Dupre's jiggly butt.
Not to mention that they don't "look" like jobbers. |

I would love to see a Flair-Trytan tag team. Saggy man-boobs all around |

You know. I could buy Young and Lovett as a tag-team. They really didn't look bad. I'm not sold on Shocker yet. I didn't think Apolo/Siaki was all that bad, and I did like Kash's little interview after the match. Pretty good stuff there. Though the wrestling wasn't fantastic, this was one of the better Impacts in terms of storyline movement. Let's hope they figure out a way to do both. |
